> 3 dayIts a great and powerful processor. Ive been playing GTA Online with full graphic settings and the temperature never gets above 55°C. Total War Warhammer does get hot on ultra settings so be warned.

> 3 dayI have used the same CPU only an older version. I have had no problems with the first one I purchased and so far have had no problems with this new one. I would highly consider using this same model for any new builds I would do.

27-09-2024Bar-none this CPU is the best bang for the buck out there. Best single thread execution speed available prior to the 8086K (think X-Plane), and performs very well for multi-threaded applications as well. High end I7s and I9s with higher core counts or quad-channel memory that even come close to this CPU in single threaded execution speed cost twice as much and require much more expensive motherboards (and at least 4 sticks of RAM $$ to achieve the performance boost of quad channel). Overclockers: the 8086K is basically a binned version of this CPU with some of the clock speed settings opened up. That means that if you are thinking about finding a new 8700K that will do a stable OC past about 4.8GHz, forget it. Intel has already snagged them and put the 8086K label on them at a price premium (genius, in my book). Go and pay the Man...

> 3 dayThis might have been overkill but the price was right. Installation was like any other LGA 1151. Amazon seems to think I should comment on its comfort so I guess Ill say that it hasnt made me uncomfortable like the AMD processor I had burn itself down so it has that going for it. Overall it was a great CPU for the price and I dont regret the purchase.

> 3 dayBlisteringly fast at stock, came from a 3770 though so that is expected, however do not scrimp on your cooler as this thing runs hot under load. Ive upgraded to a 360 AIO to rectify that as the hyper 212 is not good enough but a hyper 212 will do at stock and under medium loads where of course it will fine! This CPU is a beast.
