One of my original stations stopped working, this one works great!

So, as for what I received, it works great, as advertised. An excellent version 2 replacement. The conditions that led me to ordering this were kind of silly, though. One of my base stations was no longer tracking correctly, and debugging the hardware, fiddling with the mounts and angles, and removing other light sources from the room did nothing to help. So I sent it to the HTC repair center, but now I dont know when to expect it back, so ended up just ordering another one from here to keep things moving. Kind of annoyed by that, but whatever. Imagine my surprise when hooking up the replacement, it was having the same tracking issues. I eventually figured out that there was an environmental factor I hadnt been considering: some framed pictures were put on the wall near the play area recently, and their reflective plexiglass was seriously messing with the invisible lasers that the base stations use. After they were removed from the area, everything worked fine. If youre having tracking issues, consider looking for potentially reflective surfaces rather than jumping to the wrong conclusion like I did, and that includes anything, not just mirrors.

This product is great with the 2.0 vive trackers and is definitely the better option to have if you are just getting into vull body vr as it is cheaper than the 2.0 base station. One thing I would like to warn you about is to never under any circumstances get a used base station. I made that mistake before and ended up getting a $114 paperweight, there is likely something gonna be wrong with the used base station such as a faulty motor, scratches, bad wire, or at worst a broken laser diode. Always buy these things new.

My son received the base station and as soon as he plugged it in and tried it, it turned red and wouldnt track movements at all. He is very upset to spend all that money for junk. We are so disappointed!

You only need TWO base stations. If you buy THREE, you would have to learn how to connect the 3rd base station to VM aka Virtual Machine, which I learned/heard from others, is painstaking and a waste of time. Make you set the base stations high up on the corners, or you will deal with tons of tracking issues. So please understand that if you want 3 base stations, then just buy the 2.0 HTC VIVE base stations instead. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Bought this to replace a base station that was broken with my Vive Pro setup (because their only other option is to mail it to them and wait a month for their team to possibly repair it). However, this does not actually work with Vive Pro, it just never gets detected, and this is the ONLY base station replacement that HTC sells. So basically if you have Vive Pro youre screwed.

I bought 2 of these base stations and they worked fine for about a month and a few weeks and then one stopped working all together with the blinking red light, which means it is unusable and needs to be replaced, lucky for me I contacted Vive and the base station was still in warranty so I can get a replacement for free. The other one is still fine and works properly so I’ve just been using one until I get my replacement.

Unfortunately the used ones I bought were used because of the fact that they no longer function correctly. They did like to pair to one another and they had internal errors back to back
