I have had this for 2 years and some months. I have never had any issues with it, except that I cannot mount it on a dual monitor stand. but it was worth the purchase.

    Greater than one week

I am ecstatic about this purchase for several reasons. I havent had a new monitor at home for several years, and they have come a long way since my last, 15-inch, square, LCD Samsung. Im not knocking the Samsung monitor; it was great when new, but now its just rather old, tired and dull. I did quite a lot of research before buying. My employer reimburses up to $75 for a home monitor to use for days when we work from home, so I wanted to come as close as possible to that price. I also wanted to step up in size to a maximum of 22 inches (to fit into the monitor recess of my bureau). Additionally, I had hoped to get an LED rather than LCD monitor. For inputs, I wanted VGA to use with my old desktop which doesnt have HDMI, plus HDMI to use with my work laptop. Since I hadnt been in the market for a monitor for a long time, I wasnt sure if I was asking too much. Well, I whittled the many possible choices I found down to this HP and an Asus with nearly identical specs. The Asus was priced $10 higher, but offered a $10 mail-in rebate. Well, I hate mail-in rebates, and I couldnt see me actually getting around to mailing it in and waiting 8 weeks for a $10 check that I would then have to take in to the bank to deposit. So I chose the HP - and, boy was I glad I did! I am so happy with this monitor! First of all, it fit perfectly in the space that was waiting for it, thanks to accurate measurements given in the product details in amazon.com. For setup, I thought I would be in for the usual new computer equipment nightmares where nothing works at first, then you have to jump through hoops, download drivers, reboot umpteen times, go back to the manual to find out what you did wrong, find out that the manual is only on disc but now you cant read it because your new monitor isnt working yet, yadayadayada... But no, setup was a breeze! I was done in about 15 minutes, the monitor worked first time on both my old desktop with VGA and new laptop with HDMI. There was one slight glitch that the initial picture was stretched sideways on the VGA connection to my old desktop, but after I installed the software from the supplied disc it worked fine. The picture via the HDMI connection from the new laptop worked perfectly first time, with no need to install anything. As for switching between VGA and HDMI, you just press a button on the underside of the frame. The picture is great, for my needs, at least. Bright and crisp, with no evident lag when running videos. As another reviewer put it perfectly: Is this a stunning, perfect display? No, not really. But it is perfect as a low-cost secondary display for a laptop.. I totally agree with that. My needs are average, I just only use it for work and for an occasional change from my personal laptop to look at a bigger screen to watch a video or something. I mentioned the accuracy of the stated product dimensions earlier. Well, there was one thing that confused me a bit. At the top left on the amazon.com page the bottom image is a silhouette of a person standing at a desk with the monitor in front of him. There is a vertical measurement shown there of 20 in/49 cm. I assumed this to be the height with the stand (thinking that the height in the Technical Details was without the stand). I thought this would be a problem, as I only had about 19 in vertical height where I wanted to site it. Well, when it arrived, there was no problem, as the assembled unit with the stand is, in fact, 15.8 in, not 20 in, so Im not sure what that 20 in in the silhouetted man picture represents. This monitor is an outstanding value and I have no hesitation in recommending it!

Keep in mind this is a $100 monitor. If you keep that price point in mind, this is a really good monitor. Dont expect a crystal-clear, high-quality, Apple-like monitor. I think Ive been spoiled by the clear, beautiful glass of my iMac and MacBook because this monitor came off as disappointing at first until I reminded myself that its very affordable. If youre looking to add a monitor to your setup and arent expecting a Retina Display, you will be happy with this monitor. It was really easy to set up and has a relatively thin profile. Im using it as an extra screen for my MacBook, and Im really happy to have all that extra desktop space now. I think the only other thing I was kind of surprised by was how low the monitor sits. It does have the mount that holds up the monitor, but its only about 3 inches tall. Compared to an iMacs monitor positioning, the HP seems really short. I havent critically viewed it for coloring, but with basic usage the coloring is fine. My final thought is I recommend the white model. It looks a lot nicer and cleaner than the black model. I got the black model and wish I had gotten white.

I have owned this monitor for literal YEARS. it has survived at least two cross country road trips. It works just as well as the day I bought it. It is still like new, and I usually go rough on my electronics.

Great looking display for the price and a nice size! I originally saw some great reviews for this product so that is what prompted me to choose this monitor, especially after seeing the reasonable price. I later saw some iffy reviews about the monitor stopped working just after getting it, so I started to get nervous as I was waiting for it to arrive.I was nervous because I did have a bad experience with an HP laptop in the past that did not last and questioned HPs reliability. I have only had this monitor for 3 months now, but I havent had any problems with it so far. I bought it as a second display for a laptop and the colors are very vibrant and have a sharp display. I was looking for a monitor that was adjustable and had all of the ports that I needed. This one did just that. The matte screen also keeps my monitor from collecting visible fingerprints. The monitor was pretty easy to set up. As an IT Specialist, I would highly recommend this product even if you are not on a budget.

When I purchased the first monitor, it was sleek and priced so great, I went ahead and purchased another one shortly after so that I could have matching dual monitors. They have been running smoothly for a year. The only issue I ever ran into was that I couldnt mount them at all (the back is not setup to mount). Anyway, I still loved them. I have my textbooks in a stand over my computer desk and yesterday a BOOK fell as I was trying to grab it and it hit the monitor..... This was by no means a crazy blow. Anyway - monitor went a funny color with lines instantly. Then after many, many disconnects/reconnects and wobbling of every cable - I touched the monitor screen and the lines would change. Clearly the screen was damaged internally somehow. If this had been a crushing blow to the device, I would not be as frustrated because it would be understandable, but this was just.... a book falling and hitting it as it fell. The hardware is way, way too delicate. Unfortunately - you get what you pay for? I want matching dual monitors and these are pretty sleek as long as they work, so I put another one in my cart to buy - but then I just couldnt bring myself to buy it, because now I know if anything touches it wrong, the monitor will die. Its abnormally fragile. Sad and frustrating.

Looked nice enough, but the base to the adjustable stand didn’t fully connect, just kind of loosely held the monitor up. I don’t really trust that it will hold up if I bump into my desk or something.

Im writing this review using this monitor. It works just fine. You have to finish constructing the monitor onto its stand. And, the manufacturers image that shows on Amazon indicates the package includes a HDMI Cable. It in fact, does not. It only includes a VGA Cable. The monitor is capable of supporting either; which is nice. There is a little wear on the monitor on the top corners... The screen itself; not the casing...very tiny dots that most people might not notice. The monitor itself is great for the price. It does allow you to tilt it at different angles. However, you cannot raise or lower it...I mean, you could, with the help of a book or box or something to sit it on. But, the fact you cant adjust the height hasnt caused me an issue. It also has a choice of picture settings. You can adjust the monitor picture settings to what you need for optimal viewing for any room or lighting. It defaults to a picture setting labeled Low Blue Light; this setting seems fine for regular computer work. I have ordered a second one of these to extend my desktop to two monitors; I did have to purchase a USB multi-monitor adapter for this which is normal if your PC doesnt already have the multi-monitor capability.

I recently bought a gaming PC and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a monitor. I found this monitor and saw it had a lot of great reviews. I purchased one and it arrived in two days, much earlier than planned. I hooked it up to my PC and the quality was so great I ordered a second one! For how much it is, this monitor is a awesome starter. The colors are crisp and they are a perfect size. They have a really sleek design as well, which makes my dual monitor setup look great. I’m really happy with my purchase and I have already recommended them to other friends and family. I cannot stress enough how great this monitor is for $100. There’s a reason why it has so many positive reviews!!

Great value for the price. It is quite helpful that you can switch between the VGA and HDMI inputs using either software or the second button on the front right underside next to the power button. This monitor has very good contrast of darks and lights, easy to set up (angle it before attaching the cables), and has roughly a 60 degree viewing angle (30 degrees on either side of dead center) in which the picture remains sharp and clear, so people sitting off center or next to the main user will still see a crisp accurate picture. Its very light but also very stable. UPDATE: Not good value. It has been 2 months since purchase. The screen now produces stray dark lines from top to bottom. It is not the cable connection. If you pinch the black plastic frame around the screen glass just below the dark line, the dark line disappears temporarily until you stop pinching below it. Unfortunate that this monitor didnt last beyond 2 months of limited use. No longer consider this a good value at all. 2ND UPDATE: manufacturer wants credit card info (through chat) to replace the defective monitor still under warranty - instead of providing means to ship it back (like a shipping label so you know you arent getting charged hidden fees) before getting the replacement. It reads too much like a cc scam so not worth it.
