> 3 daySo far I have transfered over 100 CDs to an MP3 player without any problems. It has worked as promised. There were less expensive brands but since I was going to be using an HP computer also I chose the same brand.

Greater than one weekIt is so stupid that laptops are not made with cd/dvd drives anymore. Its just a shady tactic to try to make people spend lots of money having to pay for monthly or yearly software subscriptions, (such as MS Office). This portable external cd/dvd drive is an absolutely needed item for your laptop.

> 3 dayI never had external CD drives, other than the CD walkmans themselves and the drives in laptops and desktops. Because of that I cannot comment if it is normal for a drive to be this noisy when spinning up the disk but it sounds like an RC airplane spooling up. It does calm down a little bit once the CD is up to speed, but the initial spool up is extremely loud. Other than that, works as intended, plug-and-play.

> 3 dayNow a days that laptops don’t have cd/dvd drives, this works. I personally like physical copies so if I have to make a mixed cd or get one from a friend or another artist I can add it to my laptop for a digital player.

> 3 dayi bought an off brand unit that said plug and play. no matter what i did, it would not work. bought the hp unit and it literally took me longer to get it out of the box than it did to hook it up and have it performing beautifully. yeah, id buy their stuff again.
