First Fluke 117 DMM I received only measured a little over 3 volts AC at a wall outlet known to be good. I emailed Fluke customer service; they said it indicates a faulty meter and to request a replacement. I did so from Amazon, who promptly (two day shipping) sent me a replacement unit - which also measured the same 3 volts AC and also appeared to be faulty. As I only needed the replacement meter, I kept the original leads I received. As a last resort, I got the leads out of the replacement units packaging and used them - and lo and behold it worked! Tested each of the original leads for continuity; the black one was faulty! This DMM would have received 5 stars from me if Fluke would only bother to quality check the leads they ship with their meters!

Had a old analog multimeter that hard for me to read as I got older. Bought this digital and have been very pleased, easy to read and really like the versatility of the different functions. I’m a homeowner and use the unit to measure ac/dc voltage and ohms most of the time. So far this meter has worked great.

This is what I really need with my work to t/s aircraft discrepancy.

The meter has many options and is very accurate. However, I do have a gripe about it, though there may be a way to compensate for this in the settings. The meter does a calibration to auto-set the range on whatever you are measuring. This requires you have a firm contact to whatever you are measuring. If you are measuring something flimsy, the meter jumps all over the scale, as firm contact is not possible.
