As a projector for visuals only, it’s fine. But if you’re looking to project any sort of video with sound, it’s a waste of money. The speakers are pretty bad and there is no way to connect to external speakers.

Great projector as advertised the good seems very well built average size for a projector maybe a little on the smaller side. What I like the picture quality is good the brightness is good it will in my opinion satisfy most people especially for the price. I purchased a Chinese projector that claimed to be hd and had supposedly 3000 lumens none of that was true. This is exactly what it says. The bad there is no sound output and the speakers are not the best. Do not count on using them for outside or for presentations they won’t cut it. I am using my sound bar for sound at home and will use a Bluetooth speaker for presentations. This would be awesome if it had built in Bluetooth. None of the projectors in this class do that are made by a reputable brand so can’t fault it for that. Overall very happy and will not be sending it back. This is my second Epson projector if it last as long as the first it will be 300 well spent.

Bought this for making presentations to groups. No need to turn lights off in the room, PowerPoints and video are equally well seen in a brightly lit room. Even smaller print from imported document images on the PowerPoint slides can be read. Did fine with video as well. Sound is good for what it is - a projector. Sound isnt quite as clear as what youd get from a television, but sounds much better than trying to crank up the volume on a laptop so everyone in the room can hear. Set up and take down is fast. Will need to get a USB cable to connect projector to your laptop if you want to use the projectors remote control to control your slide show, it wont work if you are connecting with a serial cable. But if you already have a PowerPoint Presenter remote, then it isnt a problem.

Purchased a cheap projector around $100 and was not satisfied. This piece is around $300 and it brought me more than five times satisfaction than the last one. Pro: 1. High quality. I knew it even before I turned it on. Just feel it in your hand and touch the surface make you happy. The focusing adjusts knob and the lens cover are all well-designed and built. Even closing and opening the lens cover gives you satisfaction. 2. Brightness and color: Very bright. Wont be a problem if you wanna use it for business occasions. Color is vivid. Works perfectly in the living room with some light on for a movie night. I guess it would be the same case for daytime with curtains off. 3. The fan is very quiet compared to my previous projectors. I attached a video and pics. Video is compressed when uploading to Amazon but pic should give you a better idea. The desk is a small ikea desk so you would have a feeling of the size. Con: I am 100% happy with it. But if I have to point out some cons, here they are. 1. Mounting thread seems to be 1/4 thread which is not the universal 6mm thread. So put it on top of a tripod might be an issue. 2. Resolution is 800 x 600. For me, I think its more than enough for most streaming videos. I appreciate brightness and color over resolution. 3. No audio output port. You can only input audio to the projectors speaker through their audio port which I assume wont be quite powerful. So keep that in mind if you wanna design your own home cinema. I would get a smart tv box anyway, so not a problem for me. 4. No wireless function for my VS250. So you cannot directly do fancy stuff like wirelessly mirroring your cellphone to the projector. The starting menu does show a wireless setup function but I guess thats for more advanced version of Epson. But again, getting a smart tv stick with <$100 should do the job. Love this projector so much. Recommend for home theatre and business occasions.

I am writing this review in the event I can help someone understand how to play movies through their iphone: you cant! The main reason I purchased this projector was because I wanted the kids to be able to have friends over to watch outdoor movies. I was under the impression that I could play netflix or prime video movies through my phone if I connected an AV lightening adaptor. When attached, I was able to project my phone screen through the projector but I was unable to project a movie - the screen would go blank. I read apple reviews that indicated it could possibly be an ios issue, so I went to an apple store and talked to them about it. I was told that because of some propietary reason, movies will never be able to be projected from an iphone, but they can be projected through Apple TV. Long story short, I bought Apple TV and a 4K HDMI cord, set it up to the projector in about 10 minutes, and was able to watch netflix without issue!

I was nervous ordering only the low res SVGA version of this VS250 for movie nights, especially with native 4:3 aspect instead of 16:9. If I was using this as a primary display I might be able to justify a higher expense, but based on my research you would have to spend quite a bit more in order to get significant improvements. Standing a few feet out the picture is very clear and has plenty of brightness. If you are right up near the picture and it is widely scaled it is a bit grainy, but not at all bad. Its more noticeable when projecting text and not nearly as much with games, video, or anything with a moving picture. All in all zero concern even in a moderately brightly lit room for video but you may need better resolution for a business setting. Colors and contrast are awesome. I had tried a 1500 lumen projector before this one and was underwhelmed. The speaker is not great so plan on using an external speaker. Im using my Creative portable blootooth plugged in via aux. Anyway, here are some pictures of this thing in action. For reference, this is being projected on to a beige wall from the opposite side of the room. I am 100% happy with this purchase and have a screen on order to use outdoors when it gets warmer again.

We bought this for outdoor movies and have been very pleased with its performance. We have used a 15x12 ft white canvas drop cloth for a screen and the images look great at that resolution. Very easy to use. Can be hooked up to almost anything. The only downside to this unit that I can see is no audio out on the actual projector. So if you hook up an HDMI cable straight from a DVD player you have no easy way to put that audio on an amplifier. We use this projector with a FM transmitter for the sound. This allows us to put a stereo anywhere in the yard and broadcast. You can also sit in your car and listen with this transmitter. Great combination for outdoor entertainment. We have experimented with a 24-ft wide screen and it looks like that will work well in extremely dark environments. On the 15-ft wide screen even with a lot of outdoor lights and a good size fire the images are still outstanding.

ABSOlutley in love with the projector. my room gets a lot of sunlight, so after researching, I was sure to purchase one with high lumens. 3,200 is perfect for my circumstances, I use crappy curtains and the image shows very clearly. This projector gets very hot after an hour or two of use, so I recommend mounting it. Its quite heavy so if youre planning on moving it, a portable one would probably be a better option, although I havend had much trouble with it. It also comes with many cables, for connecting a pc instead of just an hdmi cable. Ive used xboxes, play stations and apple tv with this projector. Beyond satisfied with this purchase, not worth more than 300 dollars, I spent around 200. Harder to find a good quality projector these days since not most places sell them, my only advice is to make sure youre receiving what its worth.

1 broke, and the 2 yr. warranty is over by 1month. Not good for an expensive item. We use it for school. Which is 9 months out of the year and not used every day. We have purchased 7 in total. So far, so good. The other 6. Great quality. BH

Update 12/20/2019: I called Epson and they sent me a free replacement lamp within 3 days. Works great again! The lamps warranty had expired (90 days), but they sent me one free of charge anyway which was nice. Update 11/27/2019: It no longer works after 8 months. I only used the projector for maybe 100 hours. Ill call Epson to see if its under warranty. I bought this projector to use in my bedroom with a casual setup. The image is very good, and subtitles are easy to read. The text is slightly granulated due to the resolution, but it isnt something that I notice while Im watching. The color is pretty good too. I keep it on eco mode and I have no issue with the color or brightness. I have an 11 ft projector distance and the image is roughly 90 inches using a 16:9 ratio. One annoying thing about this projector is that it always projects at 4:3 ratio, but it projects pure black bars when viewing in 16:9. They really arent that noticeable, but I would prefer if it didnt operate this way. The only other complaint is that there is no audio out. It has built in speakers, which are ok, but you need to buy an hdmi extractor to output audio to external speakers. Extractors are ~$20. I think that you can buy a wireless dongle as well for bluetooth speakers. The image definitely wont compare to a 4K tv image, but I think that the image is great for a budget projector. I have no regrets buying it.
