can we all just take a moment to appreciate that this docking station presumably used to replace a full PC workstation in a business environment has the single worst functionality ever? 3 USB plugs. 2 of which are so close together only 2 of my 18 (yes, you read that correctly, 18) device USB plugs will both fit in those two stacked USB ports at the same time. But it gets even better! After plugging in two USB devices, then removing one of them, the USB plugs plastic bit came off with the USB device plug, so now my brick of horrid only has two functioning USB ports. /golfclap I bought a dell laptop once, a long long time ago, for personal use. I have never purchased a dell laptop for myself since. Im pleased to see that my brand avoidance was well considered if two decades on Im still running into a complete and total disconnect of design and use from dell. then we have some plugs on the back, and some plugs on the front... so this small profile brick manages to require more space than my previous lenovo full sized laptop docking station. the mind boggles at the engineering gymnastics required for such an end result to make it into production. Lets call this what it is. Its a power transformer. full stop. this is not under any definition a laptop docking station. convince me otherwise, i dare ya.

I ordered the WD19TB that has the audio connector. What I received was the WD19TBS which is the updated version where they removed the audio connector. As far as I could find to read on the differences, the absence of the audio connector is the only difference. So now I was thinking I would have audio connected with my dock, which is very important to me, and do not because the item I got is not what is described. The item even looks different, of course.

I love this product, I have one in the office and I wanted to buy a second one for home. However, with this purchase, I just received a product that does not have the original power cord and also the USB-C cable that is attached to the docking station is damaged. It appears that this product is not new, it is either used/returned or refurbished. I do not recommend this seller.

The onboard ethernet adapter (Realtek USB GbE Family Controller) becomes effectively disabled at least 3/4 days out of each week. I have to go into the adapter settings and tweak the following attributes EACH time. - Adaptive Link Speed = Enabled - Energy-Efficient Ethernet = Disabled - Green Ethernet = Disabled - Speed & Duplex = 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex (auto-negotiation really should work here) Essentially, the settings revert back to defaults and this is the only fix. Rebooting does not resolve this. Simply clicking Enable does not resolve this. Note that Dell has published a similar issue (Article Number: 000132644) related to Flow Control. My issue is NOT related to this, because, as you can see above, I never have to tweak the Flow Control setting.

First there is a known issue when using with an xps laptop and display port. Then I also had problems with the power brick and opted to replace with a third party power adapter after a dell warranty sent a replacement for dock but did not send the power adapter, which is what was needed. It works for the most part now other than not all the inputs come back after sleep. I have to connect and disconnect the dock (sometimes more than once) to get things to work. Very disappointed for something at this price. My $40 usb c dock works better than this expensive piece of junk.

I ordered the WD19TB, but I was sent the WD19TBS. The difference is, the WD19TB cost a little more and it has two 3.5 mm audio jacks. I paid a little more because I wanted the 3.5 mm jacks, the WD19TBS does not have them. Of course I did not notice until I was setting the dock up. Other than that, the dock works great. So far, I have no issues with its performance. Easy to setup and ice design.

I bought one of these for my wifes home office, and the docking station just died and quit working after about a year of use. I got the same model for my home office, and am waiting to see if it does the same for me after some short amount of time. We use the same model at work, and they all seem to perform well there; however, Im still unsure of how well they stand up under normal office environment abuse. Ill report back if anything noteworthy occurs with them...
