26-09-2024I already have a fast NVME 512GB WD Black as boot/OS drive in my gaming PC. I bought this one to to use as a 2nd NVME which replaces a regular SATA 1TB HDD I use for game installs. Although it is not as fast NVME as my other one, it is still very fast. It made a huge difference in game load times. Read speed is around 2000MB/sec vs. 3400MB/sec on my WD Black. Makes my system much cleaner because, being a Mini-ITX build, every bit of extra space helps - no big HDD and no sata/power cables to worry about.

> 3 dayBuyer beware. I’m using this to replace a 1tb ssd and I had planned to mirror the c drive into the new name drive. Unfortunately the drive capacity on the old disk is 951gb (only using 256gb). This NVME is 931gb so it’s been a painful experience cloning the drive.

> 3 dayI installed this into my gaming machine. I already had a 1TB crucial SSD in it with my OS and games on it. Being a huge tech nerd, I just had to fill my M.2 socket, and when this went on sale, it had to be mine. I proceeded to migrate my Steam games over to it. I have yet to play any games off of it as I am renovating my kitchen, but while I was working hard, my PC was not because it took all the data I needed to copy over and did it fast. I dont have real world numbers for you, but it is noticeably fast. I copied a 10GB movie from my regular SSD to the M.2 and Windows 10 told me I was getting 370MB/s. In comparison, when I did the same copy to my other drive, which is spinning disk from a laptop I replaced a year ago, I was getting 35MB/s. So solid state does make a huge difference. Also since this M.2 drive is so tiny, it doesnt make any extra heat. If it does, my PC doesnt register it. Great price, decent size storage, dang fast. Buy it.

> 3 dayI used this drive with an enclosure, as my main PC is already running an m.2 for a boot drive, and I didnt want to mess with moving it over. That being said, if you want to use it in your PC, you may want to update your bios for your motherboard and also make sure to look and see if using an m.2 disables certain SATA ports. This will keep you from running in circles thinking either a device has failed or your MB failed. I now have a super fast storage drive, and with plenty of room to spare.
