This particular device is a consumer grade SSD, not intended to support large file transfers. If you need to move big files, a Samsung SSD most likely will fit your needs better. One thing I will say -- the downloadable Crucial SSD management software, Crucial Storage Executive, is a major help. Using this software, I was able to update the SSDs firmware, over provision the drive, and set aside some of my laptops RAM to serve as a cache. These changes greatly improved the drives performance and enable me to change what would have been a 2-star or 3-star rating to a 4-star rating.

Super easy to install and insanely fast load times

I had this installed for 3 weeks and suddenly it stopped showing up on my computer. Spent several hours with Crucial only to have them tell me it’s faulty. Now it’ll be a minimum of 3-7 weeks to get a replacement. I lost a lot of information.

This is a slow, inexpensive NVMe 3 x4 blade SSD. I used it in a 2015 MacBook Pro. (With the short adapter, installed perfectly). The 2015 MacBook has an NVMe 2 slot so this blade is more than fast enough. That said, it is noticeably faster than the NVMe 2 blade that I pulled. Inexpensive and works great. A really fast blade like the 970 EVO or Aura X2 Pro is a waste of money in any Mac with an NVMe 2 slot so this one is perfect. As with any NVMe 3 x4 blade, you must run OS 10.13.1 High Sierra or later. Unexpected surprise: Pulling the back off a MacBook Pro can cause the fragile keyboard/trackpad cable to fail—turn out, it’s a known issue. Fortunately, Amazon has that cable for less than $10 and replacing that fixed me up.

Purchased 7 weeks ago from Amazon. After installing, It appeared to be working Ok for a week but then I noticed random SSD errors occuring. Freezing of drive, loss of drive detection during file transfers, etc. Tried reformatting the drive and same issues occur. Several other users have reported the same issues with this drive. 2104 Detection error on startup is too common. Now to find out how easy their RMA system is as this drive is not tolerable. Website shows it as compatible and though the drive might not appear damaged in another computer, it doesnt work properly in any P1/X1s.

Lo he instalado como disco externo, en una cajita con conexión Thunderbolt y va muy bien, aunque menos rápido de lo que esperaba.
