Good little drive. Survived a catastrophic power failure which my HDD did not. Does the trick. Good first SSD and likely an easy disassembly as well if the form factor isnt right for you.

I decided to upgrade laptop hard drive...very pleased with the upgrade. Its really increased the speed/ease of doing tasks. Such a simple quick transfer of my old HDD to the new SSD. Was encouraged to buy this brand by the clear simple instructions on the web and especially by the bundled installation software. Followed the instructions and downloaded the software but it refused to run stating Crucial SSD not detected even though the software was downloaded with a Crucial SSD using the link provided in the instruction booklet. This has been a known issue since March this year. Having wasted half a day I eventually resorted to uninstalling and downloading alternative software which worked fine.

My old Dell E5530 laptop was grinding to a halt in performance. I believe the old magnetic drive was having issues and the computer was extremely slow to use. I bought this and swapped the drive, fresh install. The difference was amazing. Its crazy how much of older computer lag is related to hard drives. Newer / faster CPU computers are often not really needed if your not gaming or doing other things like video editing that require a lot of performance. On top of that this item seems to provide the best price to value I could find in the 500 GB variety.

Using this to replace the spinning hard disk in my oldest daughters laptop. Works great.
