Crucial MX500 1TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s - CT1000MX500SSD1

I have always liked Crucial products, this is my first SSD from them. I chose this model as this one was highly recommended for its speed and reliability in the sata3 class. The documentation gives you a link to get cloning and optimization software but I did not need it because I use Arch Linux and everything I require for duplicating my file system and setting partition assignments can be done from the command line on any LIVE disk. Within an hour I had my system transferred to this new drive and I enabled TRIM through SystemD to ensure hardware longevity.

Like every other ssd this was a simple install. Previously i used Samsung ssds but wanted to give this a try.

Bought this for an old laptop, its original hard drive died so I got this one as replacement. Super easy installation. Gave that old laptop some more years of usage.

This SSD breathed life into my laptop. It runs much faster since replacing my old hard drive.

Ive run into issues with other SSD drives. Crucial seems to balance the price and speed with a reactive controller interface. Ive never had a problem installing this in a Windows OS laptop. Ive resurrected many a dead laptop with Crucial products...

I dont look for extreme speed from sata SSDs, we have nvme for that. I dont really worry about features either as an example: Most OSes can do full disk encryption themselves. Crucial SSDs have generally served us very well general purpose drives.

The benchmarks on the internet, when compared to the Samsung 830, show only minor improvements in read speed, but I swear this thing is much faster at everything. A wonderful upgrade, and the relatively large capacity makes it so that I do not have to delete games or offload them to a much slower HDD.

Just what we were looking for - a fast 4 TB SSD for internal/external media storage thats affordable. Well be buying more of these,
