Can hardly believe how quiet it is compared to my old pancake compressor. Ordered Thursday afternoon and received Sunday afternoon via US Mail which was hard to believe. Item was well packaged. Manufacturers decorative box with pics and info was inside a heavier weight cardboard box providing extra protection during shipment. Good instructions and easy assembly. Im already putting it to use today.

Bought 7 months ago for my laser runs very little, its quite what I was looking for. A week later I noticed when I was engraving I had no air I thought I for got to turn it on it was on. I have power to the motor but motor will not run. I have not heard back yet from the company, I will update review when a solution is found.

The location of the drain valve makes it a terrific pain in the behind to drain the water out after use. You have to lift the entire compressor and rotate it slightly to one side to drain, and it is not easy. The position of the valve on the side prevents the use of automatic purge valves as well. I think its safe to say well be looking for a compressor with a drain on the bottom the next time we need a new one!

Love this thing. Got this to replace my small airbrush compressor with tank. Got the fittings and now able to also fill my bike and scooters tires. Did a test fire and a 2nd test with soapy water to check for any leaks. Very impressed with how well put together this was and UPS mailed it without any damages to the box and item inside. I do recommend a moisture trap for this thing as it does collect alot of moisture in the tank from just 20min of use.

Not much to complain about. Low noise as expected however it just feels cheap when moving it around. Some good bearings for the wheels would do it well!

I use this in a small garage. My old compressor was much smaller and would rattle your teeth when it kicked on. This one is much quieter and makes my workplace much more pleasant to be in.

as the complaints in reviews mostly revolved around 1) does not hold pressure and... 2) poor customer service. I got the unit, plugged it in, got to 120 psi, stopped, unplugged 1) 2 hrs later lost about 30 psi 2) called customer service, got the biggest run around I ever experienced, it was borderline comical. could not get the simplest questions answered. What is acceptable amount of air loss over 2 hrs, 24hrs, etc. Asked 5x in email, they refuse to answer. I guess Amazon reviews are true. Its too bad the company does not step up QC and act normal during customer service inquiries as its USA company and seems to be a decent compressor. I always try to support small USA companies, but with attitude like that, well.... I either gotta fix this one, or salvage the box and send it back. I hate buying something brand new and having to fix it... this is simple to detect in QC....

I just purchased a new decibel meter from Amazon to test some of my power equipment noise levels. When I got my new California air compressor I was anxious to see how close to the 60 decibels it actually was. Well upon first running the compressor I noticed lots of rattling noise coming from it, and when I used the meter is was registering it at around 84 decibels from about 8 ft away - this is where i placed it in my work shop. Bottom line it is not anywhere near 60 decibels. ( I wish it was) But you still need hearing protection when it it running.

I picked this up to use in my shop. We use it to blow dust off parts. The biggest selling point was the noise level and this thing is QUIET! I can hold a normal spoken conversation right next to it. Air delivery is more than enough for what I use it for.

    Greater than one week

California Air Tools have addressed all of the issues other brands seem to have struggled with. This one isnt the fastest to compress air but I would happily trade that feature for the impressive low sound level. Building the tank in Aluminum results in a compressor about ten pounds lighter than the steel tank model and a lightweight steel handle furthers this goal. All welds are good, other parts high quality. Like it very much except: there is a very slow leak where the compressed air enters the tank so this unit will empty its air overnight, not a large problem. Email to California customer service brought a message from them about this fitting is installed with red loctight rendering it un removable for further sealing without application of heat. I have decided to live with the small leak because further communication with California Air tools stalled, hence only 4 stars. Get one, youll love it.
