Appears to work. As with most safety devices, I hope to never test this in full. I use it for a PC, a monitor and a cable modem router, and I see no signs of issues. The attached cord manager can be removed by pushing it out away from the body of the product (see the notch between the phone and the coaxial cable ports).

I needed a good surge protector to plug into the wall behind a bed. The surge protector I was using had a big plug and a cord that stuck out and I was concerned about safety with the bed/bedspread being up against that, so I needed a new solution. After searching, I found this surge protector that has a flat, angled plug and a wall-hugging cord. It was just what I needed! It has plenty of outlets. I like the option to hang it on the wall. I would buy it again.

I know its crazy, but this has got to be my most favorite surge protector! It has a beautifully slim profile that would do well to be mounted on a wall if needed, or even inside an entertainment center or desk to help with wire management. The layout of the outlets is great since it allows space for those big and bulky boxes while not blocking any of the regularly spaced outlets, creating far less waste! The cable input is very handy as well, especially in an area prone to electrical surges, as many people do not realize that damage can be done to devices through the cable line as well. I love this surge protector so much that I bought another to use in the office as well as the living room, and I may also be buying another as I create a portable tower for our collection of gaming consoles to make that easier.

I dont really believe all the bad reviews and some of them look like classic case of just overloading the unit or something. I have taken delivery of 3 of these over the past 4 years and not one of them has had the slightest problems. Works as advertised.

I had my PC on and there was a power surge caused by an incoming storm. The surge protector failed even though the green protected light still shines. The power surge fried my PCs motherboard and I had to replace the machine. This Belkin surge protector let me down and because the incident happened 4 weeks ago, Belkin wont pay for any of the damage they caused - their warranty gives you only 15 days from the date of the incident to report a problem.

I havent had any power surges to comment on yet but I just wanted a surge protector with space for the large power blocks I seem to have a lot of. Its great for that and the cable managment thing was a bonus, however its made upside down(for my use.) I have it mounted directly behind a flat screen TV, about 3 1/2 feet up the wall, with all the wires running downward through the cable managment piece. I measured the distance between the mounting holes(5 inches,) leveled it, laid out all the wires, ran them all over the office, then through the cable managment piece(which I love.) I installed the surge protector onto the 2 wall screws and wow, nice and neat! All of a sudden, BAM it falls off! Turns out, the mounting holes are built into this surge protector so the unit will be upside down if mounted on the wall. In other words, all the text printed on the unit and the power switch would be on the bottom of the unit, and that cable managment piece would be on top, making the surge protector look like Beeker from the Muppet Show! So if you are mounting this to a wall near the floor and all your wires going through the cable managment piece will run upwards, this should work fine, just keep in mind all the text will be upside down and the power switch will also be close to the floor.

Belkin makes a lot of nice products, and this is one of them. The layout is well thought out, easy to use, and enables the use of many devices in a reasonable amount of space. The connectors feel good, hold firmly, and dont feel like they are going to break on you. While made out of plastic it still has a good and sturdy feel to it. There are even cable guides to help with the dressing. I like this one quite a bit, and will likely purchase more in the future.
