I bought these headphones primarily for gaming to use with my PS4 in combination with an FX Audio amplifier. They deliver well balanced, super clear audio and are quite loud when used with the amp. What is most impressive is the clarity of the base notes. The base, while not super strong (i.e. beats or other bass head headphones) is never muddy even at high volume and will not leave you unsatisfied. In comparison to beats (other pair of headphones I have), the sound signature is more neutral with much clearer and well balanced audio. The sound bleed isn’t that bad either unless you have the volume near full blast. The only time these headphones sound bad is when you are listening to a poor quality audio file. The only draw back to having super clear headphones like this is that anything but the highest quality audio files will drive you mad. Not only do they work great for music but they can also hold their own when it comes to gaming. While they do not offer multiple drivers like high-end gaming headsets do, they still offer impressively immersive surround with the ability to pinpoint the direction of noises in-game. I have been pretty hard pressed to notice that much of a difference in gaming quality between these and my Turtle Neach PX5s which are top of the line gaming headphones. The PX5s may have a bit of an edge in some respects (as they should considering they are 2x as much!) but I haven’t felt like these are a downgrade when it comes to gaming. These are also supremely comfortable headphones and can be worn for a very long time. Out of the box, they might be a bit snug but they “break in” in about a week or so of daily wear. The only thing I noticed was that the tips of my ears got a little sore after the four or five hour mark but that began to become less common after about a month. Build quality is pretty solid as well. The included Slappa case is a must have in my opinion as it enables you to safely store the headphones without having to fold them (the less you have to fold headphones the better in regards to longevity) and has a very soft, almost fur-like interior. Just short of a $300 pair of Bose, these are some of the clearest headphones out there and will not disappoint.

These headphones are absolutely top notch. They are comparatively as good, or even better. as my fathers old Sennheiser set that was purchased in the late 90s, while costing less than a quarter as much. They have rich natural, bass, crisp clear treble, and a full hearty mid range. They are easily powered by my laptop (high-end with built in amp), and evenly, but quietly handled by my Galaxy S5 for mobile listening. This is coming from a guy who has grown up with high end audio equipment a standard part of his daily life.

First off, these headphones are really great. Good sound quality, (it might not be top of the line, but its very hard to argue with the performance you get for the price), extremely durable, portable, and look very clean and pleasing overall. There is little to say about the headphones themselves other than that they are solid on all fronts. Aesthetics, sound quality, build quality, price, and comfort are all outstanding. On the note of comfort, these are very well designed in that I almost forget that I am wearing them soon after I put them on. The band is heavily adjustable and fits heads of almost every size, and cups the ear nicely. They can feel a bit stiff on first use, but after using them for a few days you will find that they quickly adapt to a very comfortable level of flexibility and pliability.

My son is a (beginning) music producer. Bought these for him to replace the Beats headphones he had been using that were wearing out. He loves these! The case is a bonus. He tells me the sound quality is amazing!

Ear muffs and head band degrades years later turning into very small pieces, same with v-moda headphones

The only complaint I have is the leather/(pleather?) ear cuffs around the headphones after 3 years, started wearing off, leaving black leather/pleather on my skin around my ears. These are head and shoulders above my Sony headphones (50$) and arctis 3 (70$) that I have purchased, and are well worth the investment, but if youre reading this audio-technica, I love the quality of sound for stereo monitoring music production that I use them for, but please update the material of the earcuff.. 6 years in and it has been progressively wearing off more and more, i.e. Minimal; year 3, moderate wear off. year 4, serious wear off; year 5, lots of wear off; and now year 6 there are speckles of black pleather on my ears/head everytime i use them.

I was fortunate enough to get this on a deal for $129 including the case. Sound quality is superb; its very crisp and clear and you can hear all the ranges and some tidbits that you would have easily missed when using cheap headphones/earphones. These are better noise-cancelation, not noise-isolation. ATH-M50x are easily adjustable and absolutely comfortable to wear. I appreciate the option of swapping out cords, thus providing easy transport. The case itself is pretty sturdy and provides an adequate amount of protection. It does have a weird smell to it, but just let it air out for a few days or so and youll be good. Overall, Im pretty pleased with this purchase and is definitely worth it under $150 compared to most headphones.

In reading the reviews about the m50x they were highly recommended so I purchased a pair sad to say the reviews were way off theyre just a okay set of headphones not the reviews that I heard about I have a pair of $ 50 dollar 8headphones and the m50x sounds just like them I purchase the ones that had the carry case that I like detachable Cable other than that theyre really nothing special and when you look at the reviews on YouTube if you look careful theyre plugging m50x in to amp so when you plug these into your smartphone it is not pushing out the power you need to push the drivers in the headphones say what you want to say about Beats by Dre or 50 Auto sync the battery in the headphones is what makes the sound that you are looking for
