Excellent sound; comes wuth both straight and coiled cable. Ear cups are not full-coverage but still very comfortable.

I am very impressed with these Audio-Technica ATH-M40X headphones, which I had ordered for my amateur home studio setup as a music lover and aspiring musician. These cans are great value for money while being of impeccable quality.

Fantastic set of headphones, best sounding headphones Ive ever owned. My only complaint is the arm/hinge. The hinge is the weak point on these headphones and the part is neither easy to find or easy to replace. Very sturdy build though otherwise and incredibly comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. The length of the cord is much to long for my liking but it depends on the application I suppose. Great sounding headphones, not too overpowering bass and fir perfectly over my ears.

These sound great and are comfortable. But completely trumped by the cheap pleather that is crumbling after just 2 years. See the pictures. The leather is flaking off now, leaving black flakes in my hair and on my face. Im constantly asked.. whats on your face?

The M40x are unfortunately living in the shadow of their so called big brother M50x. Well daylight is now shining, the shadow is gone; people and their wallets are embracing the M40x as the solid performer that it is. I gave these around a 50hr break in period of actual listening so far, and I am impressed. I upgraded the pads to a thicker angled leather pad. My go to headphones are Beyers DT990. The M40s compete hard with the 990s. Bass isnt as strong, highs are not as piercing, sound stage is nearly equal. For closed back headphones I was really surprised.
