To be transparent, I bought the version of this with Ryzen 3. It was plenty fast for office productivity and online use. HOWEVER, after only a week, I had to return it to the local retailer where I purchased it. I had to call ASUS three times in one day when the screen dimmed so much on battery that it was not going to be usable. The fix they walked me through worked for the screen, but deleted the battery icon in the task bar. I called a second time and the original problem with the screen returned. The third call finally took care of it. Then, a new problem cropped up, I kept getting an alert that it couldnt connect to my network and I had to let diagnostics fix it each time I logged on. I called ASUS for the fourth time and they walked me through a fix and said it should work fine. The problem, however, remained and I am not going to go through network diagnostics every time I log onto a new computer. There were also other problems: a touchpad that was so sensitive it was always minimizing the window, it had a really fragile power pack that got super hot, and the speakers worked fine for music but speaking voices were inaudible. Im really disappointed. The price was right, but it was the only thing that was. There were just too many problems in the first week that it did not bode well for the life of this product. I wondered if I got a lemon, and should give them another chance, but after my experience, and reading the negative reviews here I have been scared away from ASUS.

For those wondering if this great little laptop will take 16GB of DDR4 RAM, the answer is it sure will!

Well I got this laptop, pretty decent looking and felt light, but well, the driver for the WiFi isn’t working. I tried to reinstall the entire system, I tried to use the BIOS to troubleshoot, but it’s just broken. Of course I made the mistake of being optimistic in spite of the bad reviews and took it on a trip immediately after getting it today, so now I have a brick. I’ll have to find a local Internet cafe to download drivers and see if I can fix it myself, but anyone who sends out junk that won’t work is obviously selling, well, junk.

I had high hopes for this stylish looking laptop. I have other ASUS products which I really like.

I would not suggest anyone buying this computer. As you scroll through email, invoices, podcasts, etc. the screen now flashes black for up to 6 seconds and then resets itself. It also has restarts in the middle of projects. When you awake the computer from sleep mode, it cannot find your local internet host. Extremely annoying.

I use this for research so use a stupidly large amount of memory. The speed and memory are everything Id hoped for. The screen is nice and big. I wish i owned two.
