I bought this back in 2020 Dec,, product has amazing picture quality for gaming and amazing response time.. i came on here to write something 2 years later mostly because today my baby mama was so upset with me that she punched the screen super hard 3 times in a row in the dead center n then threw the monitor to the ground forcefully and everything unplugged while flying to the ground .. it was bad and i knew it was broken.. but i was proven wrong and was relieved to find out that it was perfectly fine and worked as if it was never touched.. if your questioning to buy a monitor with these specs.. dont look any further, this monitor is everything you could possibly ask for but better in any situation even if ur girlfriend/baby mama/ Parents ever feel like taking a hit to it or throwing it around ! Asus has u covered with the best durability.. game quality and response time!

Finding the right monitor was a CHORE. Im looking to begin game development, but finances and computer both do not allow for a great dual monitor set up option. I researched and researched endlessly, trying to find a monitor that would accommodate both gaming and artwork. I had to lean more heavily into the gaming side of things because I do have a Huion tablet that I use for art and I figured that would help determine true color pretty fairly. The pros: The screen is bright and clear, with no dropped pixels. Its 100% adjustable in my opinion and the ability to changes heights and adjust angles in a large spectrum means no matter what my back is doing or how I am leaning, I can find an appropriate positioning for the monitor to comfortably accommodate me-- a blessing with a back injury. Im not a competitive gamer and dont play FPS games other than the Borderlands series and Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. These games as well as my simpler 2D games run very smoothly with no tearing or ghosting that is noticeable to me-- Im no expert though. Ive also got a cat who likes to bat at sprites and moving objects on my screen. Now, she is very small and has very soft paws, but shes put some weight behind her pawing without doing damage to the screen. Obviously I try to mitigate this behavior, but it speaks to sturdiness that no scratches or anything are being left. cons: I really found few cons, but Im a simple person. The speakers arent ideal, but I dont get a monitor for speakers. The biggest issue is when I adjust my visual settings to a state where they initially look GREAT but then I put my art on it. From there I realize the white balance is WAY off from what Id expect. Scanned art pieces that were originally showing up perfectly become washed out. All that means as an artist is paying attention to my settings, or keeping a paper copy of traditional art next to the screen so that I can adjust colors to match. All in all I couldnt be happier with this monitor. Its great for the price range and does everything I need it to.

This monitor is buttery smooth at165 hz, at 170 it worked by my eyes got tired quickly (could of been the cable). The frame rate counter works well, and it has very good contrast and reflection handling. Unfortunately mine developed a dead pixel in the top middle right and I found that you cannot adjust the brightness with the blue light filter on or in SRGb mode. This is an issue for me because with the blue light filter it seems to be locked at 200 nits which is bright for a dark room for me. Also 10bit color can be problematic for webpages and windows so Srgb mode is important, unfortunately that also does not allow you to reduce brightness. Asus cut costs here with the 1.2 DP port implementation, skipping 1.3 or 1.4. IMO that is very unfortunate because you could easily get 4:4:4 chroma sub sampling on this display with 1.3 or 1.4 above 120hz but if you want that you need to revert to 4:2:2 which is a shame in my book for a 10 bit panel. If you want that buy the Gigabyte version which seems to be the same panel or the LG with a tad less refresh rate. The speakers were terrible but i dont know if that was windows not finding a correct driver or not, i didnt lower the rating for this because ya, there monitor speakers and its actually a plus to have them at all these days. Overall for the regular gamer who likes some brightness this is a fantastic monitor at this price and most people wont care about chroma sub sampling or even notice a difference.

Pros: No detectible ghosting that I could see in testing or games (with Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync turned OFF!!! IMPORTANT! SEE BELOW!) Very good image quality across the entire 32-inch screen. Crisp and clear. Cons: One dead pixel. Luckily it is in a corner spot where I cant see it unless I lean in very close and look for it. It does not affect my usage and I dont notice it at all but it is worth mentioning as a defect. The color saturation is weird. Reds seem a bit too vibrant and the saturation setting in the monitor menu is greyed out no matter what preset you select. Also some of the presets seem insane. One (MOBA Mode I think it was?) changes everything to be so washed out that I suspect it was added as a joke. I tried for hours to get the colors correct using the monitor settings and finally had to resort to adjusting them in the Nvidia Control Panel and even then reds are still a bit too bright (even with HDR OFF). Ive owned dozens of monitors and Ive never had this much trouble adjusting the colors to normal. Why put an option in the settings (like saturation) and then grey it out? That makes zero sense. This monitor has loads of options but only a handful are actually accessible and not greyed out for no reason. Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync is a disaster. How this god-awful technology ever got approved for production is beyond me. There are very few accessible settings in the menu already that arent greyed out and enabling ELMB greys out almost all of the rest. This is after it dims your brightness down to comical levels and screws up your colors so bad you just laugh. But wait, thats not even the worst part! It also generates its own ghosting in the form of red and blue streaks that follow anything on the screen that is white and moving across a dark background (including the mouse cursor!!!). It is truly horrible and seeing as how I couldnt detect any ghosting with it turned off I have no idea why they would hype it up so much or even create it at all. Its like saying Hey you can run a marathon just fine with these cool new shoes we sell but weve included an option to reduce your weight even more by chopping off your feet. Summary: Do not buy this monitor for the ELMB feature!!! It makes a good monitor very bad and actually makes ghosting FAR WORSE when enabled.

The size is large but not overwhelming, crystal clear, supports 4k, great for everything from gaming to work.

Got this to replace an ultra wide LG monitor which broke while mounting it on a monitor stand. So far I like it, the picture is nice and clear and the performances are pretty good. Tried it with console and with computer games and it perform great. One caveat: be sure if you use windows, to go in the control panel and then set the output of the video card to the correct resolution (1440p, not 1080p), since if you set the monitor to a different resolution from the native one, the graphics will look quite bad. And you have to change the frequency of refresh by hand too; otherwise the monitor is used in 60Hz mode, which is quite bad. You can push it up to 144Hz refresh rate, and you will notice the difference immediately. As far as negatives; there are a couple: first of all the horrible Asus monitor interface; there are different buttons and not a dedicate button for switching port; you need to go in the menu to switch port (which is something you could do on the LG in a single touch), and there are no dedicated volume and mute options, which on my old LG would be performed by touching the nipple left and right for volume and down for mute the monitor. Sadly all Asus monitors use this very restrictive interface (I have 3 asus monitors of different price range and they all use the same interface). Last but not least, the ports are at an angle; not a big deal but if you try to reach them from the front; you have to get used to the fact that they are not facing down but at an angle.

The monitor itself is great - nice 2k picture (well, technically 1440), high refresh rate, and its a higher resolution than my old one (which was just standard HD), and its got a nice, big screen. I also didnt have to spend eons calibrating it (like with my old one) - it was basically plug & play. Tweaked the brightness a tad so it wouldnt hurt my eyes & set the colour scheme to normal, which was quite easiy. Price was pretty good too (though I did have to pay quite a bit for shipping). Overall, Id recommend this to anyone who wants a good gaming monitor. And if you just want a high-res one, Id recommend 2k or 4k resolution (but you can find one without all the fancy gaming stuff to save some cash).

Great HDR monitor. I have the 32 version. Running it with a Radeon 6800xt. Playing doom eternal and Far Cry games on this is a dream. My only gripe are the menu controls. There are big buttons on the back right side. It can be difficult just to get out of a setting to the point I just had to turn off the monitor and restart it. So menu navigation can be a pain. but overall best monitor Ive ever had.

Ordered VG27AQ a few weeks prior and have had zero issues with the screen so far after initial calibration/setup. Zero dead/stuck/bright pixels, lucky! For an IPS screen, its great to look at (and extremely bright, you can use the monitor at 0 brightness and still see the picture quite well- most of the calibration profiles Ive seen leave it at 0). You can see it from all angles very clearly and even from far back. I sit relatively close to the screen with my desk setup, but its exactly what I wanted as I can only have one monitor on the desk. I have only noticed a little bit of backlight bleed in the lower right corner, but its a very small area and overall quite acceptable for an IPS screen with such a thin bezel. Have not noticed any IPS glow when sitting dead center or even slightly off (as a note, there is always variation with manufacturing, so some monitors might have either more than mine). I have used it to play both PC and Switch, and it works great for both, no complaints (the speakers are indeed a little weak, but they are only 2 watt and more for function than real use and at least it has speakers to do so). The only unfortunate part in my temporary setup is that the MSI laptop Im using (GS65 Stealth with RTX 2060) combined I suggest/recommend expecting to just use fullscreen settings with games on the Asus (I suspect its more the laptop than the screen, once I build my new desktop I will confirm if this is still the case with a desktop 1070). The refresh rate is excellent, one of my older screens is an old 1080p Dell VA panel from around 2014 and the refresh rate is around 7ms so I would sometimes miss quick reaction mechanics in some games despite the nice screen quality otherwise with what it offered. I had zero build quality issues on my Asus, everything in the box looked to be in order and all included hardware was perfect and complete. For the price and what the monitor brings, it is definitely a good value as long as there arent any pixel or manufacturing issues. There are better monitors with picture quality, but usually those are VA panels which have their own set of characteristics and a 3 year warranty (the comparable LG 27GL850 only has a 1 year warranty which is short when compared to their competitors like Asus and Acer).

Designed for intense fast-paced games. The Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a 27” WQHD gaming IPS display with 1ms (MPRT) response time and blazing 165Hz refresh rate to give you super-smooth game play. The VG27AQ features G-SYNC compatibility and ELMB Sync technology to eliminate screen tearing and ghosting.
