Finding the right monitor was a CHORE. Im looking to begin game development, but finances and computer both do not allow for a great dual monitor set up option. I researched and researched endlessly, trying to find a monitor that would accommodate both gaming and artwork. I had to lean more heavily into the gaming side of things because I do have a Huion tablet that I use for art and I figured that would help determine true color pretty fairly. The pros: The screen is bright and clear, with no dropped pixels. Its 100% adjustable in my opinion and the ability to changes heights and adjust angles in a large spectrum means no matter what my back is doing or how I am leaning, I can find an appropriate positioning for the monitor to comfortably accommodate me-- a blessing with a back injury. Im not a competitive gamer and dont play FPS games other than the Borderlands series and Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. These games as well as my simpler 2D games run very smoothly with no tearing or ghosting that is noticeable to me-- Im no expert though. Ive also got a cat who likes to bat at sprites and moving objects on my screen. Now, she is very small and has very soft paws, but shes put some weight behind her pawing without doing damage to the screen. Obviously I try to mitigate this behavior, but it speaks to sturdiness that no scratches or anything are being left. cons: I really found few cons, but Im a simple person. The speakers arent ideal, but I dont get a monitor for speakers. The biggest issue is when I adjust my visual settings to a state where they initially look GREAT but then I put my art on it. From there I realize the white balance is WAY off from what Id expect. Scanned art pieces that were originally showing up perfectly become washed out. All that means as an artist is paying attention to my settings, or keeping a paper copy of traditional art next to the screen so that I can adjust colors to match. All in all I couldnt be happier with this monitor. Its great for the price range and does everything I need it to.

Love these monitors for gamming and for work they are large enough to split screen and essentially turn two monitors into four. Super productive!!

Im not a hardcore gamer, I use this mostly for web development and little gaming here and there and cant speak to the some of the more avid pros that complain about the HDR, nits or it not supporting the latest Display Port version, but damn is this monitor amazing! Like stunningly amazing. I upgraded from a pretty good 24in 1080p IPS 1ms monitor to this one and figured I was getting at most increase size and better resolution, but the difference is night and day somehow. Height, swivel and tilt adjustments are really nice. Colors look great. Almost no discernable IPS glow (compared to my old monitor which had bright corner spots Im blown away how little glow there is), no dead pixels, overclocking to 170hz was simple and setting the colors was easy as well. Started up a few games and was just stunned at how much better they look. Maybe its the 1440p vs 1080p but whatever it is there is no going back. 10/10 would recommend this monitor to anyone.

I bought this back in 2020 Dec,, product has amazing picture quality for gaming and amazing response time.. i came on here to write something 2 years later mostly because today my baby mama was so upset with me that she punched the screen super hard 3 times in a row in the dead center n then threw the monitor to the ground forcefully and everything unplugged while flying to the ground .. it was bad and i knew it was broken.. but i was proven wrong and was relieved to find out that it was perfectly fine and worked as if it was never touched.. if your questioning to buy a monitor with these specs.. dont look any further, this monitor is everything you could possibly ask for but better in any situation even if ur girlfriend/baby mama/ Parents ever feel like taking a hit to it or throwing it around ! Asus has u covered with the best durability.. game quality and response time!

Im impressed with the build and picture quality of this monitor. Its by far the best ive had. keep in mind this is my first QHD high refresh monitor so i cant really compare to anything but im amazed at how it does its job. I upgraded from 1080p 144hz monitor so im familiar with the smoothness but the ability to see enemies further away makes me realize what i was missing and why i kept dying to others when i could not see them lol. I recommend this monitor for its price anyday! you get exactly what you paid for and more. 10/10

Best monitor I could find which I wanted. Capable of doing 2k and at least 120hz. I have experienced the screen powering off seemingly randomly. I cant discern from memory if it ever fully shut off, but it definitely has dropped the signal (gone black for a few seconds or more) once or twice. When it happened and didnt resolve I switched the display cables and havent had the issue since. The maneuverability which is very nice does seem to lend itself to loosening the cables if you turn the screen often. Having as many buttons as it does it stills blows my mind that I have to use the joystick/knob on the back, scroll down the menu, and click through twice just to adjust the volume. Unless Im just dumb and am missing an alternative way to change the volume, this is the single largest complaint I have with the product. Highly annoying when the optimal volume for watching/browsing is 75 with adjustments doable on the pc, the optimal volume is 30 on my Xbox, which has no good way to change the volume level on it. I have an Asus F15 which seems to pair perfectly with the monitor as youd hope.

The size is large but not overwhelming, crystal clear, supports 4k, great for everything from gaming to work.

These are great monitors, especially for the price point. The image quality and responsiveness are great. My only complaints are: 1. No USB ports. It’s my own fault for not checking, but I am used to most monitors having them. This made it a little bit annoying to set up my backlights, since I had to rig them to an outlet. 2. Horrible VESA mount setup. Yes, these are technically VESA compatible with the provided hardware (despite some of the reviews here saying they’re not). You get 4 sets of screws and washer sets. The screw options are width A long/short, and width B long/short. Because the VESA mount is recessed, you have to use the set of instructions that tell you to use the longer screws with the 2 sets of washers, which includes thicker washers that act as spacers to bring the VESA mount forward. I understand they did this to make a thinner screen, but there are some fundamental issues. The worst in my opinion is that when you remove the stand to VESA mount your monitor, it reveals holes to the inner hardware. Not the end of the world, but will probably shorten the lifespan of the monitor as junk and dust builds up inside. Also, even with the spacers, the VESA mount hook isn’t very easy to access, so it takes a lot of finagling to attach. Thankfully the monitors are light, but I was grateful for the second pair of hands when mounting to make sure I didn’t accidentally drop or misalign the monitor. Not the end of the world, but poorly designed. I’m sure there’s a converter or spacer that you can purchase to fix this, but if an item is advertised as VESA compatible, it should do so correctly. Overall, if none of the issues above are big deals to you, get the monitors!

I do NOT use g-sync, elmb sync, ASCR, or any other fancy stuff on this monitor. They all drop your frame rate and feel slow. I play Insurgency, Arma 3, and warzone maxed out graphic settings. Warzone still looks like garb, but its not the monitors fault. This monitor is crazy nice. Buy this or the 4k one. The 165hz refresh rate DOES work at 2K. The actual DP input is only 1.2. Displayport and hdmi cord included but I ended up getting a DP 1.4 13 footer (accell). I have a decent 3080 setup, and Ive been using a 60hz tv or Valve index for displays. This monitor changed everything. I sucked before now Im cracked at fortnite (no cap)

i am a person who is very sensitive to headaches and dizziness. With my TN panel monitor (similar specs) it did not take very long to feel some sort of headache or discomfort. Even with turning off the blue light, adjusting brightness, and changing the refresh rate nothing would make the problem go away. I bought this hoping that flicker-free would be the answer and it was; i have spent several hours in front of this monitor and dont feel any noticeable side effects. That doesnt mean the monitor is perfect. I can tell a difference when on the internet. Things dont look as perfectly sharp as the TN monitor probably because the contrast ratio isnt as good. also the color uniformity which people have talked about is also a little noticeable. on a plane white screen the right side looks like a vanilla color where as the left side looks like a bright white. ive also read reviews saying that darker levels on games dont look as good. So I played through some of the darker levels of diablo 3 and actually thought that everything looked just fine. Honestly, i dont think the average person who is looking for perfect color uniformity would even notice a difference but being use to using a high quality TN panel for several years i did notice after staring at it for a while. overall, if my TN panel monitor did not give me any side effects i would prefer the picture quality over this one, but eliminating the headaches by far outweighs any of the specs. It really is well worth the money and i thought the picture quality of the games looked just as good on both monitors.

Designed for intense fast-paced games. The Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ is a 27” WQHD gaming IPS display with 1ms (MPRT) response time and blazing 165Hz refresh rate to give you super-smooth game play. The VG27AQ features G-SYNC compatibility and ELMB Sync technology to eliminate screen tearing and ghosting.
