Ive been using it for a week and the truth is that I throw it away, it constantly disconnects, the 5g network is crap, one thing is the web configuration another for the application they never say the same, previously it worked with a Lynksys and was Well I wanted to change it for the number of devices that I have connected but that is another headache, the 2.4 network does not reach all of them and they remain disconnected, your privacy is completely null, everything goes to the Trend servers this seemed the worst to me, summary do not waste your money,

Good speed and great design. But it could not handle the number of devices I have.

Avoid this router at all costs. Constant WiFi signal drops.

Great range through three floors and 3000 SF house. I’ve only seen one bar drop from the farthest part of the house. The setup was easy and the interface is user friendly. Highly recommended!

I have had several ASUS routers over the years. Generally happy with the mesh system. I bought the AX88 in January to replace my dead AX86U. I noticed some smoke coming from the router and then the power died. I called ASUS about this issue and was very frustrated with their technical support. Was given days of run around and then finally asked to ship it back to them for an indeterminate amount of time and I had to pay for shipping. Horrible customer support and horrible product quality. I am down to my 5 year old 68U router which seems to be the last time ASUS made a reliable router. Will switch to Netgear in the near future. Strongly recommend avoiding ASUS now.

I have purchase several Asus routers, motherboards, and computers over the years. For the most part they have all been trouble free. This router is the one exception. Given the track record of years of dependable products having one go bad is acceptable.

    Greater than one week

It covers a 3000 Sq Ft house including garage, driveway, and back yard with no problem. The UI is easy to use, feature-packed and pretty intuitive, making it easy to get just the right configuration you want. I also bought it because of AI Mesh, but with this coverage Im not seeing a need for it yet.

I purchased this router as an upgrade to my RT-AC66U which I’ve owned for many year. Unfortunately it stopped outputting WiFi signal after less than 30 days of ownership. I contacted ASUS immediately to try and troubleshoot. No luck, they gave me a ticket number and said their tier two admins with contact me within 24hours. After 3 days I decided I’d be better off just retuning it since I was still within my return window.

i preordered a pair of these routers, running the 2nd in bridge mode. Early on, i used to regularly get 5ghz speeds over 900mb/s but each firmware just got worse and worse. The latest firmware, 3.0.0.4.384.9107, released on 5.14.20 was the last straw. If you have LAG enable, the latest firmware will cause your router to go into a permanent reboot cycle. i have no reason to believe after all this time that ASUS is capable of providing a stable firmware. buy another router/brand, save yourself the headaches

So I bought this product thinking Asus is really a good brand - well not in routers it seems. AX88U spec’s met all of my requirements and spent the last week getting the office ready for the install. Routers are usually a quick easy install, this was not the case to where I needed to call support. After their support went through their checks, they said the product was defective and I need to return it to the seller. This was a brand new product! I hoping I can return but I will be looking for another brand (due to defective product right out of the box or just plain horrible support - either one is not good if you are looking for reliable service). My recommendation - stay away from Asus routers.
