For a $150 1080p 27 monitor, this gets a lot of things right. Just be aware that the motion sync feature can cause major eyestrain. Pros: Good color quality Sleek design with very thin bezels Matte coating that reduces reflections HDMI cable included Lots of OSD options (with configurable profiles) Freesync (reduces tearing in games) Motion sync backlight strobing. This is usually reserved for 144Hz+ gaming monitors, but it is here, albeit gimped. Cons: Non height-adjustable stand (passable for price) OSD can be clunky to switch profiles. For some reason, ASUS includes two shortcut buttons (default is brightness and blue light filter), but does not let you use those shortcuts to switch profiles. You can however use it to switch from different presets (with splendid), but not saved profiles. This seems like an oversight to me, because instead of just two clicks to change profiles, you have to do much closer to 4 clicks. I think ASUS should have at least given the option to use the shortcuts to switch profiles. Motion Sync is a nice addition, but not as good as actual 144Hz panel (as it should be), and it can cause eyestrain. I have attatched some images of (approximately) what it looks like when it is enabled, but note that the double images get worse near the top and bottom of the screen. The double images are pretty bad, but in games, I didnt notice it that much. However, I did get eyestrain after about 15 minutes of gaming with the mode enabled because of the inherent strobing, even after having the monitor for a few days and trying to adjust to the strobing. Overall, Im happy that ASUS included the option at all, but just know that the 1MS MPRT marketing point is only valid with motion sync on which has all the aforementioned problems. The lowered brightness of the mode doesnt bother me nearly as much as the eyestrain and double images though. If you want a gaming monitor with hardware that can drive it (next gen console, gaming computer), I highly recommend just spending a little more for a 144Hz monitor, as this is priced at $150. Conclusion: This monitor is great for normal use. Its okay for gaming, but at a $150 MSRP, Id recommend spending a bit more for a proper gaming monitor with actual 1MS response times and 144Hz refresh rates.

I bought one of these to replace an old 24 inch and I was super excited when I hooked it up to HDMI. WOW the brilliance and fast loading. Liked it so much that I bought another one in the same brand to have 2 while working from home.

This is the smallest 27 monitor Ive ever had, saving space all over the table, but at the same time very powerful; the brightness is comfortable and neat, I recommend it for long office work...

I have had an older version of this monitor for several years now and was so impressed with the quality that I recently purchased another one for a dual monitor set-up on my desk. My co-workers were so impressed that we have now purchased 2 more for others in the office!

The price of the product is too volatile I bought it at 170$ and the next day it went to 150$. Overall the quality is good and matches the description.

Im returning to the office and Im bringing my existing dual monitors (also asus vl279 but not HE I guess) to the office. Monitors look fine and not too pricy. I thought I ordered the same model I had before but I guess not. Issue 1. They do not work with my docking station. I guess my docking stations second hdmi out only outputs at 30hz and maybe this monitor doesnt support it. I switched to 30hz interleaved and it works but looks terrible. Ive ordered a different docking station to see if that fixes the issue. I guess you could call this an issue with the docking station which does work with the asus vl279 non HE monitors (which must support 30hz). Second issue is they say its wall mountable. I guess. You have to pop off the bottom of the back and unscrew the base stand to expose the wall mount plate. But the mounting bracket is at the bottom of the monitor and not in the center so you better have something that doesnt swivel. I sort of had to prop one side against the wall and the second monitor against the first one. God forbid i ever sneeze. Most stands are designed to swivel a bit and its fine if they are attached more to the monitors center of gravity. One false move on these and it will swing around and get destroyed. Trying hard to not have to rma. Make sure your stand doesnt swivel and if you have a docking station it supports 60hz.

Not a gamer but a beautiful picture. Ive had mine for a few months with no issues. Picture quality is great in every way. Bright whites and very dark blacks. I have 2 side by side and the picture quality is exactly the same on both. I have a background of a closeup moon pic across the 2 that is mostly very dark with bright stars in the distance and small brightly lit areas on the surface and it looks great. Colors are also brilliant and sharp. I read reviews about week stands for these monitors but I feel they are average. If you shake the desk they are on, sure they will shake but if you have a firm desk, no worries. I loveem.

Picture is great but part of the reason I purchased was the built-in sound, not impressed with sound.

The frameless ASUS VA27VQSE eye care monitor features a 27-inch curved and 178° wide viewing angle for a vivid image quality with minimal color shift. Eliminate tracing and ensure crisp and clear video playback with its featured Adaptive-Sync technology and refresh rate of up to 75Hz.
