The AOC CU34G3S looks fantastic - vibrant colors and deep black tones on this Samsung-manufactured panel. The curve was too much at first but I got used to it and now love it. The extra screen real-estate is perfect for work and immersive gaming. I also like that all the monitor settings can be controlled from the AOC G-Menu software, and profile presets can apply to individual programs. But unfortunately there is a black screen flicker with FreeSync. Ive tried limiting frames and the black-screening persists. The issue is not present with FreeSync off, but that causes another issue: screen tearing and flickering horizontal lines. Not sure if I just received a bad unit, but its really unfortunate because I did want to like this monitor due to its wide gamut and color accuracy. There is also a dead pixel on the right-middle of the screen (despite the zero bright/dead pixel guarantee). Ordered a second one and will update my review if these issues are resolved with the replacement. Update: Replacement resolved the above issues. I do recommend this monitor. No issues from the past couple weeks I’ve used it.

I was looking for a really good, yet budget-friendly monitor for my first PC setup and stumbled upon this absolute masterpiece of a monitor. For $230, I got a 32 165hz 1ms monitor, which is already a steal, but on top of that, this monitor, in particular, is adjustable, which comes in very handy, and is overall amazing. The red trim may be concerning to some people, but I have a strictly black-and-white setup and it works fine. Ive seen people paint it, but honestly, I can barely even tell. The red is on the bottom and some of the back, which is against the wall. I dont think it really matters what it looks like from the back-bottom angle, plus if you have LED lights in your setup or in your PC, it makes no difference. Also, when I set this up, the default setting was 60hz, so you have to manually change it in settings to 165hz.

Dont know how or why, but the AOC CU34G2X was advertised at much less than the comparable LG ultrawide only to find out when I checked again the price had basically tripled. So if you can get this at the original price this is a bargain. The monitor build quality is great and isnt over the top like others with RGB and elaborate cases. The only gripe I really have is the fact that the menus are driven with the old fashioned side by side button arrangement rather than utilizing a small joystick which would make adjustments much easier. However there is a simple remedy to this and that is to download AOCs g-menu utility from their EU site. Once installed all the monitor tweaks and customizations can be accomplished with the utility. You obviously need to have the monitor plugged into your PC via the provided USB cable, but thats it. The monitor comes with a really good stand which is spring loaded to go up and down, turn left and right and tilt forward or back. You cannot rotate the screen. It also comes supplied with a display port cable, HDMI 2.1 compliant cable and the previously mentioned USB cable. The back panel offers several USB 3.0 ports as a hub. Now talking about picture quality and refresh rates, ghosting, etc. is very subjective and I dont have professional tools to really give a data driven review here. I can tell that the very edges have a very small amount of diminished brightness, which is most abundantly noticeable with white background. I have yet to play any games with freesync turned on as I am still building up my Ryzen 9 3900X with 5700 XT card, but the couple of games I played (Control and Assassins Creed) the monitor has met my expectations. There are several customization settings available to fine tune the monitor to RTS, FPS and racing style games and each of them can further be optimized. All in all this is a great monitor and I cant wait to see when this is first reviewed by one of the big outfits on YT.

If youve been wanting to make the plunge to 21:9 Ultrawide but dont want to spend 700 to a 1000 (entry, some are double the price), this is the monitor. I got mine for $370 on black friday, but the mid $400s they are current asking is still a steal. First off, the specs are out of this world and they hold true. 3440 x 1440p is the best resolution you can get without going 4k, and with 4k you need a proper rig to run games at decent FPS. Check your CPU tho, if its older it might struggle a bit with this res, but not much. 1ms response time is pretty much best available, the 1500R curve is simply the best balance between a nice curve and not feeling like you are surrounded. Its not flat, but appears somewhat flat while viewing, but theres just the right amount of curve. The colors are nice, very accurate. Doesnt quite pop like an IPS panel, but it looks fantastic. Even in mid 2022, 1440p gaming is still considered the sweet spot unless youve got the budget for a $300 CPU and $1,200 GPU, not counting RAM, MOBO etc... The onboard controls could be a tad better, and are difficult in low light until you memorize the button patterns, but that is easily forgivable. The brightness is well bright, I never go over 70 even in a well lit room. Overall, I cant say enough about this monitor, AOC really hit it out of the park with this model. Its kind of been glossed over by the thousands upon thousands of dollars for an LG or Samsung, and thats a shame, because AOC should be praised for what theyve done here. No dead pixels, everything has been beyond smooth, easily the best monitor Ive ever owned, Ill NEVER go back to a flat panel. Oh and did I mention this thing is 34 inches? Most monitors with these specs are 1080p 27 flats, or maybe a 32 if your are lucky. As a gamer for over 20 years, I promise, do yourself a favor and pick this bad boy up.

Everything about this monitor is great so far. I have had it for almost 1 year and it has not had any issues at all. Picture quality is amazing. Refresh rate is perfect for PC gaming. I have a 3060 graphics card and no problems.

Only had for a few months. Back light already bleeding through the top left and right halves. I always shut down my monitor after using. I might put an average of 3hrs a day on it if that. Monitor has had ghosting since day 1. Tried about every setting I could to get rid of it. Disappointed.

I felt compelled to leave a review that primarily speaks to my experience w/ the warranty after seeing some other reviews. Monitor is great. This was my first 34 ultrawide. I originally purchased in March of 2021 to complement a new pre-built I purchased due to lack of GPU inventory to build myself. Fast forward, 6-months later and the monitor fell face forward on my desk and caught the mouse in the wrong spot. Oddly enough, this cracked the screen in the upper right hand side thus damaging the panel and rendering a 6-inch space in the shape of a rectangle from the edge inward blank. The rest of the monitor worked, but seeing this happen almost brought me to tears given the expense and short lifespan. This happened on a Sunday. I contacted AOC via email that night, but decided to call in the next day in the evening. I connected w/ a rep and he helped get me started. The rep sounded French and it kind of reminded me of a scene from the IT crowd where one of the characters calls into a call center and has difficulty understanding the agents. Regardless, he was very helpful and able to get the process started for me. Once started, as a customer I had 2 choices to proceed w/ the replacement (one of which the agent alluded to taking a bit longer than the other, though not specific to which one). I could either opt to ship the monitor myself and a replacement would be sent upon receipt OR provide my CC for them to ship one out ASAP, which I could then use the box to ship the damaged monitor back. I opted for the path of least resistance, which to me was providing my CC info for them to ship me a monitor ASAP. The process was initiated on a Monday evening. I received a follow-up from the warranty processing company on Wednesday letting me know it had been approved and giving me the choices on how to proceed. I promptly submitted the info. I received a notification the order had been placed and Id get a shipping notification upon the replacement monitor being shipped. About one week passed and I hadnt heard anything. I checked the RMA website that same day (following Thursday after RMA had been approved) and saw nothing, but finally got an email notification that the monitor had shipped. When i checked the tracking, it was set to arrive the following day. It arrived that next day as expected and Im typing this from the same computer/monitor setup. The whole process from initiation to receipt of the monitor took just under 2 weeks (about 10 business days). I was really impressed with the AOC warranty and the speed and relative ease at which I was able to adhere to their process and get a replacement. This was a first for me, as I typically dont like to rely on warranties. I learned 2 lessons from this: 1. A warranty like the 1 year AOC warranty makes ALL the difference in the world when you need it AND is something I will be on the lookout for in other monitor purchases. 2. Maybe I should think twice about purchasing an extended warranty for an expensive monitor. THANK YOU AOC

Really good monitor. I do flight sims and going from a 27in to this is a total upgrade. Very nice packaging as well. Completely encased in a styrofoam mold, mine did not have any damage upon receipt.
