The monitor was well packed and arrived with zero issues. This is the 7th different ultra wide monitor I have purchased and I can say its one of the best so far. In my quest to find the best Ultra wide for the money this is my #1 choice for gaming and #3 for work. Cons: The base is huge and will take up a lot of desk space. Better to use a monitor mount if possible. Of all the monitors I have used this one is 2nd to last. Only better than the Samsung G5 34 inch because nothing on the market is worse. My only other con may not be for others. This monitor is part of the Argon series and yet the back of the monitor is generic. No LEDs like on the 32 inch. Pros: This is the best Hassel free 1000R curve I have used. Its also the best priced. The color immersion in games are really good. Here is a list of Ultra wide monitors I have tested and used in my personal order of likes. I use my Ultra wide in conjunction with a 2560x1440 32 inch and I put them both on a single mount. I so moderate gaming and work in Radiology. 1. Dell 34 inch Ultra wide (best base, best colors, best price at under $400, 1500R curve so best if doing both gaming and office work) 2. AOC Argon 34 inch Ultra wide (best for gamibg with the 1000R curve, wish it had the brightness of the Dell and Alienware, great price at $400) 3. Alienware 34 inch UW IPS panel (second best base, best overall color, but way to expensive at $720) 4. Gigabyte 34 inch UW IPS panel (best IPS panel for the money) 5. Samsung G5 34 inch UW (the worst base, also the worst firmware off any monitor. If you set to run as 1.4 DP depending on your video card youre probably going to get screen flicker. Doesnt matter if youre using AMD or Nvidia if you set this morning to turn off or go black screen to avoid burn-in good luck getting it to wake back up. Probably the best gaming monitor I have ever tested and its not even close but with the pathetic base and firmware its not worth the headache) 6. Gigabyte 34 inch UW VA panel (A good low cost UW if you can get it for under $330) 7. Scepter 43 inch Ultra wide (avoid like the plague, zero curve makes this monitor difficult to view on a desk)

My son loves it! He games constantly, on PC and PlayStation... This monitor is fantastic. Excellent fps for all the action scenes, amazing color, and that curve is sleek. Excellent price. Definitely buy the thing.

So I originally had an LG 34 ultrawide gaming monitor which dies recently. The LG was probably twice as expensive. So how does it compare? Is this monitor as nice? No, its not quite as good. The colors are not quite as vibrant, even after messing with the settings for a while. BUT for half the price its pretty damned good. It took some setting tweaks to dial it in, but MWII looked pretty nice and same with Destiny 2. For $320 it does what I need it to do. Overall Im happy.

The AOC CU34G3S looks fantastic - vibrant colors and deep black tones on this Samsung-manufactured panel. The curve was too much at first but I got used to it and now love it. The extra screen real-estate is perfect for work and immersive gaming. I also like that all the monitor settings can be controlled from the AOC G-Menu software, and profile presets can apply to individual programs. But unfortunately there is a black screen flicker with FreeSync. Ive tried limiting frames and the black-screening persists. The issue is not present with FreeSync off, but that causes another issue: screen tearing and flickering horizontal lines. Not sure if I just received a bad unit, but its really unfortunate because I did want to like this monitor due to its wide gamut and color accuracy. There is also a dead pixel on the right-middle of the screen (despite the zero bright/dead pixel guarantee). Ordered a second one and will update my review if these issues are resolved with the replacement. Update: Replacement resolved the above issues. I do recommend this monitor. No issues from the past couple weeks I’ve used it.

Wow... wow wow wow. Ever since I first switched to flat screen panels, Ive always felt like they can never live up to the color reproduction or clarity of my old Sony Trinitron. It was a giant white plastic cube with flat glass that felt like it weighed more than I did, but that monitor has always been the gold standard for me. No flat screen Ive used since has been able to match it. This is the first time a flat screen monitor hasnt left me feeling like the game Im playing would have looked better on that Trinitron. This is also my first experience with a VA panel, or with a monitor this large in general, but I am honestly shocked by the quality of the image this monitor produces. You definitely need a video card with sufficient power and memory to get this monitor to do 144 hz.. I am using an 8-year old GTX 680 lightning and while it is still a capable card in some respects (I use it for an oculus rift with no problems) its 2Gb of VRAM lack the memory bandwidth required to push 3440 x 1440 at 144 hz. No worries here though, because Im upgrading my card to a new Radeon 5700 xt with the money i saved by buying this direct from Amazon. (Amazon is the only retailer not price gouging and sells this monitor for 459$ when they have it in stock so be patient!) I will update my review after testing it with my new card because reviewing it without testing 144 hz at 1440 is premature, but right now I couldnt be happier. Its nice to be bottlenecked by my system for once. Considering your monitor is the peripheral that you spend all your time starting at, it should be as robust as the system youre pairing it with. This is my dream monitor and it feels good just looking over and seeing it on my desk even when its turned off. Im surprised no one has mentioned how classy and solid the stand seems or how clean the overall styling of the monitor itself is. The legs are a work of art and the stand goes up and down so smoothly.. its impressively easy to lift up and down considering the weight of the monitor. This thing is far better engineered than the Asus, Dell or ViewSonic flatscreen monitors Ive used in the past. Contrary to what I read in the reviews prior to my purchase, I was pleasantly surprised by the out of box settings. I thought I would have to tweak it a lot after reading the other reviews. This might only apply to the 34-inch version of this monitor since its the flagship, and might be finer tuned than the other panels during production. It also arrived just as promised with no dead pixels.. and I love that the company offers a 3-year guarantee on that. Though I doubt Ill ever have to use it. I mentioned this above, but its worth noting you can get this monitor for way less than the 900$ currently being demanded by some retailers. I think the high number of people stuck at home during quarantine upgrading their toys is driving prices up.. after almost buying this for 900$ I kept checking and sure enough Amazon got a couple in stock the other night for $459. They also had a few of the 32 inch non-curved displays for 259 but I went ahead and splurged. My wife gave me permission cuz its my anniversary present... Shes the best. Amazon shipped it to my door in just a couple days and I couldnt be happier. *Edit after upgrade to 5700 xt* 5/19/2020 Holy moly Im in love with this monitor. The colors are wonderful and I can finally push this monitor to its full 144 hz in a lot of games. Its worth noting a lot of older games dont scale to ultrawide very easily but if you mod Skyrim its amazing to behold in 3440 x 1440.. especially at 144 hz. If you can get this monitor without being price gouged, jump on it.

Just received this today so I can only relay the first impressions. And those are, it looks great with the curved screen, frameless design (3 sides), great refresh rate, good resolution (QHD), a good set of accessories - i.e. HDMI cable, DP cable, good stand that will allow adjustment of the monitor up and down, left to right, rotate to portrait, etc. Hooked up to a PS5 currently and I confirmed 120 Hz in certain games. I have owned AOC monitors since the CRT age and they were always really good and reliable. I hope this will stay true for this one also...

This replaced my Dell 2716DG, a gsync 144hz 2560x1440p TN monitor. I had always wanted to get an ultrawide, but couldnt bring myself to spend more than 500 dollars. This monitor was released and had the features I wanted at the price point I wanted. As with most monitors, the secret sauce is in the settings. Ive never had a monitor that didnt look better after some settings tweaks. This monitor has freesync instead of gsync. When I first used gsync in 2016 it became a must have feature. Then I built a new rig and moved from Windows 7 to 10. Windows sometimes breaks gsync, making the price premium for it no longer part of my purchasing decision. While this monitor isnt gsync certified you can enable it via the Nvidia control panel. At first I would get intermittent black screens that would last a few seconds with gsync enabled. Needless to say this was ruining my gaming experience, so I looked for a solution. First I downloaded new drivers from AOCs website and manually installed them. Problem persisted. Then I updated the driver on my 1080ti. Problem persisted. I tried using a program to change the freesync range which some people claimed helped. No dice. Finally I found a solution that worked: 1. Make sure freesync is set to ON in your monitors onboard controls 2. Right click on the desktop and go to the Nvidia control panel 3. Set up gsync in Set Up G-Sync 4. Select Manage 3D settings. 5. Change Monitor Technology to Fixed Refresh 6. Select the Program Settings tab within manage 3D settings 7. Select the game you want to run 8. Change Monitor Technology to G-sync 9. Do this for every game you want to play with G-sync For some reason this works. No more black screens! My rig is Windows 10, 9900K, 1080ti with latest drivers. Coming from a TN the colors were a bit better, but it wasnt a life changing experience. Apparently my previous monitor was dialed in pretty good. The pixel response isnt as fast as my old TN, but after a few days I dont notice it anymore. If you arent Mr. E-Sports tournament guy it wont matter. If you are that kind of guy you probably arent even looking at this monitor as an option. Now for the bad. The monitor often needs more brightness. Even with brightness set at 100 I still find myself upping the brightness in game settings. If a game doesnt have a brightness slider you can use Picture Boost in the monitors on board settings. This is a great option. So why put it in the bad section of the review? The monitor doesnt remember this setting when you turn it off. If you need it for a game you have to reset it every damn time. AOC needs to update their firmware to fix this. Its keeping this good monitor from being truly great. Every time I want to play Assault Android Cactus I have to mess with this. Not cool. Beyond the black screen workaround and the picture boost not being saved Im happy with this monitor. It was great step up from my 27 inch TN, and now I can never go back to regular sized monitors. Size does matter. It will probably be another four years until a 4K with comparable features is released at a reasonable price. I wont be allowed to purchase another monitor until then since my sister in law dimed me out and pointed out to the wife my new toy. Thats the last time she stays with us during her spring break.

The performance leaves little to be desired. First one I purchased was damaged in shipping I presume so I ama little concerned as to how well it will hold up over time. So far, this one has been everything I hoped it would be.

Amazing bezels. Almost nonexistent. The frames and the color of the moniter is beautiful and vivid right at open. The menu is super easy to use. I bought the 24inch 165hz 1080p about 3 years ago and worked flawlessly until I upgraded. I got the 32 inch 165hz QHD moniter but it was just a tad bit too big so I went with the Samsung G5 1440p 165hz moniter but I miss my AOC like crazy
