This is a fantastic monitor for the price! And honestly, its competitive with monitors that cost double the price. People often overlook VA panels because VAs just have a general bad rap. I dont know where it comes from, but the stereotype that you need IPS is mostly false. IPS does have the best color accuracy, but unless your doing photo/video work that demands perfect colors, a VA will do great. The colors are vivid and accurate, and the viewing angles are good too. Unless youre gaming at a 70 degree angle from the front of your screen you will never have issues. Also, monitor preference is very subjective. While some people may prefer the faster technology of IPS (which can mean less ghosting), many others (myself included) care more about the superb contrast ratios provided by VA. For one, I have yet to encounter ghosting issues on my display. But also, this VA literally has a 4X better contrast ratio than the average IPS. I played on IPS for years and I always hated how every black color was just turned into a grayish blob. Now I can see different levels of darkness in full detail. Nighttime levels in games are playable and enjoyable now! So for half the price, you can get a 144hz 1440p monitor that rivals $500 dollar IPS options. Its a no-brainer. To top it off, the packaging is superb. When I opened it I was not concerned at all about potential damage. And it has zero dead pixels. The only con I have to mention concerns g-sync compatibility. This monitor is not on the official Nvidia list of compatible monitors. However, when you go into the Nvidia control panel to set it up, it indicates that the monitor is, in fact, compatible. The g-sync works well, and I was amazed by the buttery smooth feel I got even at frames well below 100. Now heres the downside. Apparently there is a strange but replicated bug when you have this monitor plus a 1000 series Nvidia gpu. IF and ONLY IF you turn on g-sync, and your frames drop under 100, the screen will randomly lose display for a second before coming back as normal. I found a reviewer that discussed this issue and they found it persisted across several of these monitors and when trying different cables. https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-cq27g2u-cq27g2/ It doesnt happen if you stay over 100 fps. It happens rarely (once per hour) between 100-80 fps. And it happens more frequently (once every 20-30 minutes) under 80 fps. The times are not consistent those are just my rough estimates based on usage. If you turn g-sync off this doesnt happen at all. Also, it has been reported that this issue doesnt appear of you have a 2000 series gpu. Honestly, I still leave it on most of the time, because Im willing to lose display for a second or two per hour in exchange for buttery smooth goodness the rest of the time. However it is disappointing that the issue exists at all.

I use a triple monitor setup for my PC gaming, so I bought three of these. I purchased the G2 model with only Full HD (1080p), but I got the 240Hz models that are curved. I have to say that these are very impressive for the price. The curve really works great when you line three of these monitors up, bezel to bezel. The curve is almost perfectly continuous across all three monitors, creating a great immersive gaming experience. They have adaptive sync and can refresh up to 240 times per second, so they are basically made for gaming. I only have a 10xx series Nvidia GPU, but it does support adaptive sync and the current Nvidia drivers allow these monitors to quickly be enabled for adaptive sync usage. I had to adjust the refresh rate in the Nvidia Control Panel in order to remove the refresh limits, but after doing so my games are running buttery smooth with no ghosting or blur. I LOVE IT!!! Unlike some of the other reviewers, I see no dead pixels on any of the three units I purchased. They came packaged well and were completely undamaged upon arrival. They came with a DP and an HDMI cable too, so thats nice. The only negative thing I have to say is that there is some backlight bleed through that is apparent when the screens are dark and the room is also dark. But as soon as something is displayed on the screens the bleed through around the edges is not noticeable. For $300 each, I really cant complain. Id buy these again, and again, and again. And the adaptive sync works great with Nvidia GPUs even though these monitors are not officially approved by Nvidia. I think they soon will be though.

A great monitor for its price, would highly recommend to everyone. However, it is important to note that because of the VA panel there is slight ghosting. Not a huge issue as you can tweak some settings to lessen it, but still noticeable in fast paced FPS games.

I really love this monitor with low input delay and high frames per second but I don’t know why my speakers aren’t working can someone please help fix this problem.

I’ve been an owner of the 27” 144hz AOC Monitor since 2020 and I can say this monitor has lived to my expectations greatly. The performance is great, it is still responsive to the millisecond, and it works just fine. I haven’t had any dead pixels or any bugs with it. It works perfectly fine to this very day. Honestly a 10/10 monitor and it was the first monitor I ever bought for my gaming setup.

This monitor is great if you’re wanting something that’s 1440 and can run at 160fps, but don’t want to spend ridiculous amounts of money. Build quality is great and has performed well so far. There was some slight screen stuttering when I first started using it, but it seems like the settings I eventually landed on has made them go away or become very minimal as I can’t see it happening anymore. Giving 4 stars just because of the screen stuttering at first, not sure if that’s something that is consistent among these monitors or not.

(I didnt see a lot of reviews for the AOC 24 Curved Gaming Monitor Model: C24G1A, so I wanted to share) (In my photo, the AOC is the monitor in the middle) I game on my PC and have been using a nice budget HP 24 monitor (240vha) which was the #1 bestseller on Amazon for quite some time. I dont have a ton of money but wanted to upgrade to a monitor with a faster refresh rate and see if it really made a difference. The game Ive mainly played is NBA 2k21 (and a little bit of GTA V). Ive owned and used this monitor for 1 day now and I will try to remember to come back in the future and update. Despite not the best at displaying the full color spectrum, they are very vibrant and you can dial up a ton of contrast and brightness. I have the brightness turned all the way down and its still almost a bit too bright for my eyes but may Ill adjust over time. It is indeed a 165mhz monitor. It stands up to those refresh rates and I havent had any issues with ghosting, motion blur, dead pixels, or power issues. For most day-to-day gamers, this is a great monitor if you cant afford a bigger brand (but in some cases you are just paying the extra dollars for the name when the products are virtually the same). If you are an e-sports professional or getting paid to game for a living, this might not be the best monitor for you. This is the only monitor Ive owned with 165mhz or 144mhz rates so I dont have anything to compare it to however for my first gaming monitor, its a heckuva good buy for the price. I must have caught it on sale because the price has gone up $23 in 4-5 days...i only paid $144 (and yes, its new, not refurbed). For a sub $150 price tag, youll be hard pressed to find a better deal on a 24 curved monitor that supports 165Mhz. Youll definitely want to go into the monitors settings and play around. We all have different tastes and likes and there are a lot of color modes and options to dial in a satisfying picture for all users. I work and game on this monitor/PC so it will be getting extensive use (8-15 hrs a day) and I will try to remember to come back and update my rating in due time. *update* After 2 months of usage, the monitor has an issue. I have a pixel that gets stuck on red when it is trying to reproduce darker colors. It works fine when its white or black but any other darker color and the pixel get stuck on red. ive added a picture of the pixel for reference. Ive had monitors with dead pixels before but never an issue like this....very odd. Ive contacted AOCs customer support for an RMA but am skeptical that it will be considered a covered defect. I am outside of my 30 day return window so Amazon is unable to replace it for me. A refund was offered by Amazon minus a restocking fee but that wouldnt come near close enough to cover the cost of a replacement. I have changed my rating from 5 stars to 3 and will update my review again after I hear back from AOC.
