AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

Im giving them a 1 because they do not include thermal paste, the product is good but i am livid that you did not include thermal paste or mention in your product page in an easy to find way that you didnt. My computer is dead for days until i can find thermal paste. I am unimpressed.

This is a great CPU and works great with my RX6750XT GPU. Amazon has the best prices by far. Highly recommend.

Runs too hot to function. I unfortunately do not have a liquid cooler and tried to use the stock cooler from my 3600x. Every game I try to play crashes. Ive tried undervolting it, running it in eco mode (which takes it down to 65w), using curve optimizer, and nothing works. I cannot play anything at all. It often cant even make it to an actual game and crashes in the menu. This is absolutely pathetic I and I now see why this is the only of the new gen 4 ryzen cpus that are reliably in stock - they dont work. Im seeing people with max sized radiators on their double pump cooling systems and it still reaches 90 degrees celsius. Completely dysfunctional product - do not buy.

I finally decided to upgrade from my FX-8350, and was dead set on a 5800x3D. When the Ryzen 7000 series launched, the prices of the 5800 dropped, while the -x3D was still commanding a bit of a premium, and the 5600x rapidly sold out. Rather than continue to run a 10 year old build, or wait for the 5600 to come back into stock, i decided to just go with the still rather beefy 5800x.

I analyzed the price to performance and created a PC Part Picker build which could give me and idea of how well performing various builds might be, how much power they would need, and how good the various parts might be given a particular choice of processor. Truly, the processor drives the decision making since one must obtain a compatible motherboard, and then budget for the right case, power, supply and then always memory and storage.

It is fast vs 2600x. Gaming is way mo betta

Its early November 2021. The Intel 12th gen just released,. And other sellers are already selling this at just under $300. At that price, worth it. At the current price an Intel 12600K may be a better option (with Windows 11), even considering the higher mb and ram costs.
