I generally build my own systems except laptops, but this time I wanted an Alienware (like buying a Vette) so did my home work and found the best bang for the buck, the R14 for me. Amazon had a great price on my choice and was delivered within a week. After opening the box and taking stock, I was ready to rock. First thing I noticed was the system was slow and stuttering even with a RTX 3080 installed. Got customer service (CS) online 12/01 and started the process of fixing it. On the first day I lost my sound capability because during the process of CS fixing me, the bios change did not take and by the time I was able to get rebooted CS closed for the day. No biggy, next day I had CS on the phone and my hardware drivers were sorted out, but their was still that pesky hard drive thrashing, 25% Mem tied up at boot and still small stutters. CS passed me onto Software support, were I was told they could not help me since I only had basic warranty that covered just hardware. After call I was pissed, called Amazon explained the issues and was told if I wanted to send it back, I could. Amazon CS did ask if they could take another run at Dell since I told them I really did not want to return it, just wanted it fixed. After they got Dell CS on the phone, tech said that only if I had brought this issue up 90 days ago they could have given me the full service. I scratched my head and said, I just purchased this computer a little over a week ago! Upon which I was corrected and told the computer was over 120 days old! Then it all clicked! The minute that computer arrived at Amazon warehouse the clock was ticking, as far as Dell was concerned! Could you imagine if auto companies sold cars like that and hinged your warranty on when the dealer ship took possession? Amazon Customer support has been really great so far. Dell has me really disappointed in my decision to buy their product! Still not sure what my final choice may be, thought of stripping out the case that is was as good and rebuilding it or just hang onto to it and every time it hiccups call Dell Support. UPDATE: 12/4/22 - Resolved being able to enter BIOS, I found if I disconnected my 2nd Monitor I was able to see the Alienware Logo on startup which meant I could hit F2 to enter BIOS. With both monitor plugged in I would never see the Alienware Logo and the start up would hang. I have been able to run diagnostic and bench marks Overall Score = 97% using Passmark. Memory tested at 73% so not too bad but could be better, may go to a better mem stick later. Bottom Line - Going to keep it, but very disappointed in Dells Warranty Support with software.

Received computer, set it up and ran it for 24 hours, over night I am guessing it performed windows updates or something but it was stuck at black screen. Contacted dell who, trouble shoot issue and said mobo was bad. They refused to replace entire thing they wanted to send out a 3rd party tech who may or may not be competent enough to basically replace the heart of the computer, then put everything back properly including CPU and liquid cooling.... No thanks. I called Amazon and they had replacement sent out immediately. Otherwise great system for the price.

Beautiful design and gaming features galore - and problems started the first day. The most irritating was Windows wouldnt always load. Id get the error message: Recovery, it looks like Windows didnt load correctly. Tried startup repair, got the message Startup repair couldnt repair your PC. In addition it would randomly power up for a few seconds in sleep mode, then power down again. It also wouldnt restart when updating drivers, and when gaming would freeze occasionally. I liked the PC so I spent an hour on the phone with Dell support. Checked multiple solutions, then had me do a system reset. If that didnt work (which it didnt), he wanted me to buy a 16gig USB stick, do a complete wipe, and download from the internet. I didnt spend that kind of money to also have to spend additional time and money on trying to make it work properly - sent it back.

I bought a intel i5 12300kf about a year and a half ago and after downloading the games that i wanted and could easily run them with the 3060 that was with it started bottlenecking and couldnt handle anything. it wouldnt even run the browser when i fired it up. This pc starts all my differnt gaming apps immediately all the while being able to start up any app right when it fires up. Ive never felt i needed to overclock it. If feels like night and day. You know you have a powerful computer when you restart it and it starts all your applications right as you get to youre home screen. AND i have a custom backround screen that is using the graphics.

I never seen an Alien PC in person, thought I’d be smaller based on the photos. It’s a BIG BOY!

Windows 11 keeps crashing, while the computer is idling. The Blue Screen appears, offering me many options, including re-installing Windows 11 and losing all installed programs and data. After determining that the problem was not caused by hardware (I told them), Alienware (Dell Computers) offered to help me with the software problem at $99 a session. Should have built from scratch, like I did my last machine 16 years ago. Will not buy another Alienware or Dell unit.

I have had this PC for four days now and it sits here with the “Blue screen of death” on the screen. A very long sad story, but I will greatly condense. Day one - I followed on screen prompts including doing a system restore where I had to reload all programs. Day two - After about an hour on phone with Amazon tech support, which elevated all the way up to “Check to be sure the USB cables are plugged in”, I was actually connected to a Dell Alienware Aurora Tech who stated that they were well aware of my problem and he knew how to fix it. After several hours of remote access and upgrades, he went away and the Blue Screen came back. Day three - Dell service tech would not respond to my email asking for help. I called the extended warranty group, and after reading him the actual details of the warranty, he connected me to another tech. After several hours of remote access, he went away and the Blue Screen came back. Day four - I email both techs and get no response. I called warranty company and this time the contact person did not want to help me beyond telling me to send it back. After I read the warranty to him two or three times, he transferred me to a medical facility. I called Amazon and asked that a replacement be sent and I would verify it worked before returning the first PC. Delivery is one week. Nothing takes Amazon a week. Tonight I finally get a reply from Dell tech wanting to know what day and time would be good to work on the PC. I replied that I had asked Amazon for a replacement. The extended warranty may be a good thing, but all the help it says they will extend during installation is mostly words on a piece of paper. I will update this review when something happens. I have purchased several Dell computers, never having this much trouble. UPDATE: I received the replacement R14 per Amazon’s promise date. I loaded the same programs I had loaded on the faulty R14 and it has been running over the weekend as a new Dell should.
