Best laptop you can get for the price. Similar laptops are at least $100 more. The battery life isnt great but what do you expect, its a gaming laptop. It can smoothly run every game Ive tested so far, including PUBG & the Modern Warfare beta. PUBG got the fans really going but with earbuds in I couldnt hear them. The computer also got quite hot in the center above the keyboard but not worryingly so. If youre looking for a gaming laptop around $1000 this is the way to go. FYI it seems to go on sale for $999 pretty often so hang tight!

Very nice laptop. Runs smoothly. Battery life unplugged probably lasts about 3h or so for me. So far Ive only played dragon age origins and it runs well on max settings. It gets really hot playing while plugged so Ive bought a cooling pad to help with that but all in all it performs well.

I worked in the IT department at an architecture firm for 6 years and became very accustomed to the high end desktops and laptops used there, but never wanted to fork over 2-4 grand for a equivilant personal laptop.

All come in perfect conditions to Israel. The laptop looks really nice and premium. The performance is very good. The only thing, which is normal, is the noise of the fans, even when I am surfing (sometimes). But if you are looking a good machine to do whatever, this is your laptop.

I purchased this a little over 3 years ago and it finally started to show its age. From the very start I had issues with my GPU fan sounding rattly, but it still pushed through and I never had GPU temperature problems. A few days ago it finally broke but it was definitely a good purchase back then. For some reason even though this laptop is outdated and very weak relative to much cheaper Acer laptops, the price has gone up from back then. Dont purchase now, buy the 3000 series laptops which are cheaper and better.

This laptop overall is a steal for its price point. Does the job for modern games at 1080p. This is a gaming laptop so don’t expect amazing battery life or anything. Also, I really like the blue over the previous red in the Helios. This laptop is pretty cool both in looks and temperature. I think a big part due to acer undervolting out the box. Give it a try!

Very bad backlight bleed, customer service told me to take it apart and put electrical tape all around the LCD panels border. No thanks, I spent $1,000. Im not taping up a manufacturing defect. Going to try a different brand.

I use this full-time for memory- & graphics-heavy programs (AutoCAD, Sketchup, V-Ray, Adobe Suite) and love it so much. Rendering 3D models sometimes gets to be too much for the computer, but it’s ultimately a laptop and that’s what a proper PC is for. Battery life leaves something to be desired. Mine goes dead in at most two hours, likely less. But the screen is great—love the slim frame profile. The colored keys are fun too and it’s a fantastic size for getting lots of work done. My partner used to steal it all the time for gaming before they finally broke and got their own proper gaming computer.
