This laptop is great for a sub 1000 gaming laptop.

Wouldn’t recommend. Got this laptop paid 1200! For it all it does is over heat. Fast forward 6 months later GPU just randomly stops working. Not only that not even a month after I brought this one the newer Model comes out for same price and this models price drops significantly. Waste of money. Don’t get me wrong it’s a beast of a laptop with amazing specs but you better have this thing being cooled by a radiator it just produces way too much heat which degrades components over time.

Overall the laptop looks very well put together, the hardware was a great value. However even on the first day after using it for a little while the laptop runs at temperatures near 100 degrees Celsius. Purchased myself a cooling tray to attempt to resolve the issue and it still runs extremely hot. Acer is completely unwilling to resolve the issue without sending the laptop out of state, which would leave me without the device for 2 weeks. I dont recommend purchasing this laptop unless youre looking for a portable furnace, Id look to other laptops.

Im writing a while after I had bought this laptop. At first, it was good and provided solid performance. Now it barely scraps by on 1080p games. The reason being after a few months maybe half a year I noticed ma metal scraping noise. At first, I didnt think anything of it and maybe something minor.

So full disclosure... I use This laptop for running software for my CNC and for this purpose is more than sufficient. Im not a gamer but the video memory and processing is needed for my purposes and this thing is legit.

This is the second Acer gaming laptop Ive had, and both times theyve had strange problems with WiFi connections where theres a non-trivial chance that the network settings are going to just be completely unavailable (as in, I cant even view what networks are available to connect to, the network & internet settings program wont even load, I have no internet connection, and network diagnostics cant help at all). The problem happens regardless of what connection Im using, regardless of the computers temperature. Internet forums seem to suggest that this might be a consistent problem that others with the same model have as well. The laptop works great for the first 6-8 months, and then these network problems pop up randomly. Sometimes Ive been able to resolve it by restarting the computer a few times, sometimes it seems I have to let the computer sit for several hours. It just happened again, and neither of those are fixing it so I guess Im going to have to resort to a full system restore. Its such a shame, because the laptop is such a great value otherwise - but perhaps issues like this are exactly why.

I bought this 2 years ago and am still using it regularly. Some of the keyboard keys dont work but thats probably my fault for dropping a few things on here that I shouldnt have. The charger it came with got busted for some reason after about a year, but replacements can be found online. Aside from that, the price you pay for this compared to other gaming laptops is phenominal.

Had the laptop for less than three months now and Its running at 65 degrees when idle(in an AC cooled room to 20degrees) and started to thermal throttle when playing any game other than league(constant temperatures of 95+). Will probably have to repaste/thoroughly clean any dust inside the laptop and hope for the best. Wouldnt recommend buying.
