I bought this monitor to finally have a 144hz screen and g-sync for my 1070 SC video card. Its on an adjustable triple monitor stand in the middle of two BenQ 1ms 60hz monitors, the Acer being my primary and for games/movies. My only complaint is the same one most other owners have...out of the box the color/brightness/contrast settings are trash. I scoured google and reddit for an hour, trying different suggestions, until I got it right. With the recommend configs floating around the web, one size does not fit all, so you will probably have to tinker with the monitor settings for a bit to get it to work. Make sure youre on the latest video card drivers otherwise, like in my case, g-sync wont be an option in nvidia control panel. You also dont want the monitor setting OD or overdrive cranked up all the way, everyone says to leave it on normal.

Edit June 2019: No Signal issue over DisplayPort is getting worse and worse. Really tired of fighting with this monitor. I would not suggest buying. EDIT April 19 2019 (lowering to 3 stars) - Updating to say that I still like the monitor but the DisplayPort cable it comes with is causing some problems. I am frequently getting No Signal on this monitor when I start my computer. I used to be able to fix it by unplugging cables or restarting the monitor, but now that isnt always working either. Read about the pin 20 problem with some DP cables, I believe that is the issue here. So I am looking at spending more money on a better cable. For right now I have to fight this monitor to get it working, or use HDMI instead which doesnt allow it to run at the highest frame rate. Acer should include quality cables that are wired correctly. Ive only used it for a few hours so far. No dead pixels or anything out of the box. Be patient when you first use it if you are used to a nicer monitor such as IPS. This is going to look pretty rough at first. Look up some color profiles and take the time to calibrate it to your liking. This is my first experience going above 60hz and it is worth it. Games like Rocket League look incredible. I can see why people say it is impossible to go back to lower refresh rates once you get used to this. This is also my first monitor with a high quality stand that allows you to raise and lower it easily, swivel etc. Very nice to have. I purchased this based on the recent news that Nvidia will start to allow the adaptive sync in these Freesync monitors to work with their GPUs. This model is one of the 12 out of 400 tested that Nvidia specifically listed as passing their standards for picture quality etc. The driver hasnt been released yet but we will see how it functions soon. The OSD menu is a little clunky and it seems to me that it doesnt do a great job always remembering your settings. TN panels have inherent downsides but if you arent the type to go get a $600 monitor then something like this is worth considering. With some calibration I am happy with the colors and contrast and games look great. For watching videos or browsing, I will be keeping my IPS monitor.

Great monitor graphics are great, but am having to return it because it fails to mention that there is no audio jack or any built in speakers at all. Very disappointing considering it’s a nitro you would expect it to have speakers at the very least. So if you don’t care about having speakers go on ahead and get it it’s great for everything else.

I would not recommend this monitor unless you are pressed to buy it and wont have a 144hz monitor for any other price. So, I bought this 144hz monitor for my new computer that I built. This monitor has poor picture quality, bad colors, connection issues, and bad brightness. Its not good. However, it is 144hz. So thats nice. Another bad thing is that, in three months from purchase, it got a vertical red line down the screen. Vertical red lines are connection issues that are nearly impossible to cause on your own and impossible to fix without removing the panel. I did not hit the monitor or do any moving when it appeared. I simply was browsing the internet. They said this damage was under warranty. I sent the monitor in for the vertical red line and it was fixed within a week and a half. However, it cost me 23 dollars and my time! I also noted that the monitor had other issues (including connection issues), which they did not fix. The only thing that was fixed was the red vertical line. I want my 23 dollars back! Again, I would not recommend this monitor. It sucks and Acer kind of sucks. At least they paid for the shipping label!

I have TWO of these bad boys on my gaming desk. Very nice picture, very bright screen, and very responsive. I cant really complain at all with this monitor but if I had to give it ANY criticism it would be that the speaker(s) is/are complete trash so youll need headphones or a headset and the DisplayPort cable is very short. I mean, a 6 foot cable isnt too much to ask for in my opinion and I think the one in the box is 4 feet long. I have a pretty big desk so I had to go out and buy 2 new cables to get everything working correctly and actually plugged in. Otherwise, these are great monitors and G-Sync compatibility is a HUGE plus as I run a 1660TI in my gaming rig. Definitely a great buy for gamers.

TL;DR -> Great monitor but provided cable apparently died and was no longer delivering signal to the monitor. This resulted in a scare that the monitor had failed. Buying a new cable fixed the issue. This g-sync compatible monitor is excellent for its price and thus very valuable as most other g-sync monitors are at least another $100 more expensive. Out of the box, the picture looks a little brown (at least mine did), almost like the reading view setting on most smartphones. However, with a setting-tinkering, you can get it to look however you like. UNEXPECTED FLAW: This is something that i noticed some other reviewers talk about but though to myself: Surely it wont happen to me, right?. Well it happened.. I received the monitor and hooked it up and started using it with no problems, but fast-forward not even A WEEK later and the monitor goes dark and refuses to show what output through the display port input setting. This was incredibly frustrating, not only for the short time it took to start acting up, but for the fact that without an input from display port, you cannot use the 144hz/g-sync capability... which is likely the reason one would buy this monitor. I tried turning off and on a few times, and even tried changing display ports on my video card but neither of these worked. At this point, i remembered reading a review where the reviewer had the same problem but fixed it by ordering and using a new display cable. Well, however silly that might sound, using a newly-ordered (and 144hz supporting display cable) did the job and i was suddenly able to use my monitor again at 144hz with g sync. The only conclusion i can come to is simply that the provided cable is incredibly cheap and cant handle a high, consistent load during use. So, great monitor, horrible provided cable. If you decide to purchase the monitor, Id recommend purchasing your own display cable.

I sold my 60hz ultrawide for this 144 because I had upgraded my pc and thought its stupid to be getting 100FPS+ and only have the monitor show 60. Right away when I plugged it in, even from moving the mouse I could feel and see the difference. This monitor is great and has a lot of settings and allows you to save setting profiles within the monitors software. 24 is massive and the stand easily holds its weight and feels really fluid when adjusting the monitor. The only downside to this monitor is the sound is from 2 tweeters and it sounds like actual garbage. I would def. recommend sticking to your headset/external speakers. They shouldnt even have the speakers in the monitor its a waste!

First off if you order this from amazon, get the gift wrapping option. They come shipped in their factory box which clearly advertises what is inside the box. My first one disappeared or was never arrived to my house. Amazon was awesome and replaced it and I was on standby the whole day it was to arrive lol. That aside, I’m really pleased with the monitor itself. It’s the first “gaming” monitor I’ve ever owned so with nothing to compare it against, it does what it advertises. The packaging in the box is very protective. Assembly is quick, intuitive, and no tools are needed. The base is stable, which is welcome since this monitor can be rotated, swiveled, raised and lowered in height, ect. I didn’t have any dead pixels in my screen thankfully. Picture is great. I haven’t played any fast paced games so can’t comment on that aspect, the games I do play are better presented since this is much bigger than any monitor I’ve owned previous. On that note, if you are buying your first monitor, because you are sitting closer, monitors appear larger than you might think having bought tv’s. What I mean is a 24 inch tv for watching the news is tiny, but this monitor for gaming is about the limits of how big I want a monitor. I had to look at the box and make sure it was the correct one/size. (Glad I didn’t buy a 37”) Anyway, it does 144hz 1080p and IMO does it well for a really great price. Haven’t had it long, so hopefully the reliability is on par with everything else so far. At this time I highly recommend.

This Monitor Barely Had Any Reviews But It Was Well Worth The Price It Was ($119) Which Is The Price Of Most Off Brand Ones. Its Been Perfect For Gaming And The Refresh Rate Is Great. Playing Competitive FPS Games Shows No Signs Of Tearing Or Latency Lag Its Smooth And Crisp. I Chose This Over The Sceptre Monitor Everyone Recommends For A Budget Gaming Monitor, The One Drawback Is That It Doesnt Have Speakers But I Use A Laptop So If Im Not Using My Headphones It Has Speakers. Sidenote: The Screen Height And Angle Is Adjustable And Has Some Cable Management

In competitive gaming, every frame matters. Introducing Acer"s XFA253Q gaming monitor - the Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution monitor that can keep up with your game play. Through AMD FreeSync Premium technology, the game’s frame rate is determined by your graphics card, not the fixed refresh rate of the monitor, giving you a serious competitive edge. Plus, users can enjoy comfortable viewing experience while gaming via flicker-less, low dimming and ComfyView display. The design saves space on your desk and lets you place multiple monitors side by side to build a seamless big-screen display. (UM.KX3AA.Z03).
