PSA: I initally thought Amazon shipped the wrong monitor because the box has the FreeSync logo but nothing about G-Sync. This is a G-Sync compatible monitor meaning NVidia has certified that it will work with G-Sync. When I bought my gaming PC in 2014, I was not aware that not all monitors are created equal. Specifically, monitors that run at 60 Hz will limit gaming performance to 60 frames per second (FPS). When I upgraded to a GTX 1070, I wanted to get a G-Sync monitor that would show me what kind of performance I could get if it was not artificially limited by the monitor. I was very pleased when I found this monitor. It runs at 144 Hz. I bought it in June 2019, and I am writing this review, January 2020. Some people may be put off by the fact it is a TN panel instead of IPS. I am very happy with the quality of the picture. Even when I am not gaming, I notice the movement of the mouse cursor is smoother. I bought 2 monitors because I wanted a dual monitor setup. I was used to using 2 monitors at work, so I dont know why it took me so long to get 2 monitors at home. Its so nice to have a game running on 1 monitor while having something else, like a browser or Power DVD. on the other. If you use your computer to browse websites, watch videos, use productivity apps, or basically anything other than gaming, I do not recommend this monitor. In my opinion, this monitor is overkill for anything other than gaming. Buy a cheaper monitor if you dont play games.

Monitor is great for gaming but colors out the box are awful. Once adjusted it looks really good for games but my biggest problem with it is Whites just aren’t as white as Id like them to be. I can’t explain it but it’s definitely noticeable when doing something like a word document. Bezels are thick to some people that would be a problem. Does include a display port cable which is nice. VESA compatible always a plus. G-sync adaptive so is a freesync monitor that supports g-sync on 10XX & 20XX graphics cards. Built in speakers aren’t great but that’s expected of a monitor and I’m surprised they had speakers to begin with. Overall a solid monitor for gaming but biggest issue is colors

I’m new to PC’s and recently got my first PC. This monitor works very well, and adjusts pretty easily. Occasionally, it has caused me trouble when it comes to being turned on, but I’ve just had to make sure that my computer is put on sleep mode or shuts down before I leave it. It was easy to assemble for a beginner like me, and the screen looks great. The audio is not the best, seems quieter than you may expect. I haven’t had trouble with gameplay, runs smoothly. Overall, I recommend it!

Im making this review because this page seems to be review hijacked by Acer and another corporation for a number of different monitors and there doesnt seem to be many reviews specifically about the Acer Nitro XFA243Y Sbiipr . Pros: -Stand is very ergonomic, albeit a bit wobbly at the base even though I tightened the screw -Low black-smear and motion blur thats commonly associated with VA monitors -Good contrast (non-professionally calibrated) -Solid color reproduction (non-professionally calibrated) -Good ports Cons: -Stand has terrible and almost pointless cable management. Theres always going to be at least a couple wires sticking out on either side of the monitor like antenna, and the clip at the back of the base serves basically no purpose for most desk setups. -Display settings in the menu dont save after the monitor wakes up from sleep unless you specifically set it as a profile -VA batman bloom effect seems particularly bad, even for a VA display. Viewing conditions in the dark make any content seem more grayish than its supposed to. It should be noted for any potential buyer of this particular monitor that the coverage on the internet is basically non-existent for it so youre basically SOL when it comes to other reviews, trouble-shooting, or calibration. I usually use sites like RTings for calibration help, but this time I had to painstakingly do it buy eye. Ironically, the IPS version of this monitor (XF243Y Pbmiiprx) is MUCH more popular in terms of reviews and such so If you dont care much about VA Id honestly recommend that one instead, if you can get a good deal on it of course.

Poor QC resulted in this monitor being shipped defective with thin lines ever few rows of pixels (I had this same issue with a Mac display so I was quick to notice) and in less than 24 hours of the display being used I have already received a dead pixel, I am assuming these issues are from a faulty internal power supply as the brightness flickers on the display at some points. Ill update my review when the replacement arrives however dealing with returns and a faulty unit leaves a sour taste in my mouth. However at this price for a name brand monitor for 2022 its still a good deal, if the replacement model is not defective as well.

Pros: Fast/good refresh, nice build quality, decent price, ergonomics/stand are great for adjustability, comes w/DP cable. Cons: Poor picture quality!! There is no way to get the brightness/contrast right...you can have all the refresh you want, but if you cant see in the shadows and/or sun whats the point? The colors are trash (very washed out/inaccurate). Gamma is crap too. Viewing angles are poor, I know, I know its a TN panel...but this is bad I have this monitor parked right next to my 11yo Dell monitor (also a TN) & it looks so much worse. I was looking for an upgrade to the 11yo monitor I have...this is not it. Side notes: There are tons of ways to adjust the picture, Ive tried them all, it just doesnt have the capability. Also, it has a feature that displays current refresh rate in the upper right corner in big bold yellow letters, which you can turn off in the settings...but if you shut the monitor off (even sleep too) then turn back on the setting reverts every time, very annoying. ...Im going to try swapping the DP cable, currently using the one that came w/it. UPDATE: better cable did not work. Found out the picture issues are related to the refresh rate. I understand this is common in low end monitors If you tune the refresh rate back to 60hz the colors/gamma/contrast improve. Still not great, but better. I hope this helps someone. I researched the crap out of this monitor & no one mentioned this issue.

I spent hours trying various settings and watching videos in an attempt to make this panel look good, unfortunately theres not much information out there on this panel. The ghosting effects are unbearable. The colors are awful, the gamma is awful, the shadows are awful, the refresh rate bounces allover from 50s to over 200 which causes a strange flicker effect on the panel -- It randomly goes from bright to dimmer, back to bright, back to dim, etc. Theres virtually nothing positive worth noting. Ive got a ASUS TUF Gaming 23.8” 1080P Monitor (VG249Q1R) Full HD IPS 165Hz -- It is flawless and beautiful, zero ghosting, vibrant colors, a completely different experience. Ill just go buy another one of those. The 5 star reviews must be for another model, because this Acer Nitro XFA243Y Sbiipr 23.8” Full HD (1920 x 1080) VA Gaming Monitor is not even worthy of a single star. Save up an extra $30-50 and get something better. DO NOT BUY.

I got this to replace my 60hz Dell IPS panel (had brilliant colors, but slower response), and I am quite pleased since I play a lot of fast-paced games. nVidia G-Sync was very easy to setup (I highly recommend only using it in Full-Screen mode, I had some issues with windowed borderless in some games), and I get insane frame rates on my RTX 3070 with zero screen tearing. Pros: - Very fast response time - High frame rates - No screen tearing Cons: - Colors not as good as other panels, but this is to be expected since its a TN panel. This one is just barely a con because I was able to google and find good monitor settings to use.

The base for the monitor screen is very stable holding it in and it is adjustable being able to move up and for left and right
