> 3 dayBefore I begin, you should be aware of what ChromeOS can and cannot do before buying any chromeOS device. This Acer computer definitely feels premium. The MicroSD card slot is certainly useful especially when switching user where you can still access files stored on the SD Card compare to the Pixelbook. If you do see a good sale on this laptop, its certainly worth it as the i5 has more than enough power for handling lots of tabs (at least 12 tabs or so with lots of multimedia on the website). Specs is confirmed as: i5 CPU, 128GB of storage and 8GB of ram.

23-09-2024Yes, Pixelbooks are super-expensive as they can be had for about twice the price of Acers but I would seriously consider Googles if I could afford it for the following reasons:

> 3 dayDo not buy! This chromebook seems a good deal, but screen cracked under normal use in just a few months. Acer wants $399 to fix the glass. Robbery! Will not be buying any further Acer products.

> 3 dayJust as a disclaimer, i bought mine on cyber Monday for $699 which is the perfect price. I couldt bring myself to spend the $899 it was initially listed. This Chromebook really checks all the boxes. In my opinion this is the best Chromebook currently available, even better than the Pixelbook though i suppose that is subjective. I say this having thoroughly researched every new Chromebook released this year. If you can stomach the price, or find it on sale, you will not be disappointed.

25-09-2024My daughters use it more than me. battery life good, they play roblox on it without a problem for the most part. So its not lagging. Might buy another one later down the line. I know this isnt best review I thought it best to say something and give acer their props

> 3 dayThe standout feature of the Acer Chromebook Spin 13 is its display. The combination of the screen size with the unique resolution and aspect ratio hits a sweet spot. Its speed is actually much faster than necessary for typical Chromebook browser and app use, but will be great for users who plan to run Crostini Linux applications or dual-booted Windows. The feel of the gorilla glass touchpad makes it a joy to use. The EMR stylus works beautifully, though it can get somewhat stuck in its holster if reinserted with excessive force. At 3.5 pounds, this device doesnt target users that require high mobility or frequent use in its tablet mode. The aluminum case is metal gray in color, so it just looks like any thin corporate desktop when the lid is down. But, when using Chrome OS, it breezes effortlessly through all of animations for touchpad and touchscreen gestures. Browser extensions, Web apps, PWAs, Android apps, and screen casting are all highly responsive. Video streaming and playback is excellent, and sound is very good for a laptop. I/O ports are ample and located optimally. I purchased mine for $699.99 on Cyber Monday.

> 3 dayI had researched for a while and seemed all my problems would disappear switching my kid to Chrome book and this Acer laptop. After playing with it and doing the folding and just manipulating it, the thing reset itself. Using it normally and now delicately a few times I noticed fans going wild and some lag. Becuase of remote schooling I wasnt going to go through the song and dance they put you through but my hopes of just working and my life becoming easire were completely dashed. Massive dissapointment, never buying ACER ever again. Then the other thing to note if switching to chromebook for school or a group is.. they will own your laptop, period.. you cannot switch to other accounts or use it for any other functions or apps except what they choose. The argument is its safer and... etc but bottom line is you cannot use it freely yourself for all the other 18 hours a day. Not even creating a seperate account with a password for the paretn or anything logical. Iwished I had just gone to best buy, bought a regualr windows laptop, downloaded chrome and be in control of my hardware while having somewhere / someone to deal with the fact I ofcorse as my luck has it, were sold the lemon... The chromebook constraint problem is not the reason for raitng but the fact i got sold a lemon is
